Hellas
I only seem to be able to purchase 3-gun-batteries (le.FH/s.FH). Shouldn't artillery batteries in German infantry divisions consist of four and not three guns per battery? http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Zusatz/Heer/Artillerie-Regiment.htm
poesel
The link you posted points to a TOE of '39/'40. Although I wish that would be relevant it is not for CMRT. Find one from '44.
Hellas
Although I wish that would be relevant it is not for CMRT. Find one from '44. So you know the TO&E had been changed?
JasonC
The standard was still 4 gun batteries, but the front line units never had enough tubes and very often used 3 gun batteries because of it, by mid 1944. When you don't have enough ammo to need all 4 to fire it off anyway, that can seem a reasonable expedient. If you are rationing ammo to 25 rounds per day per gun, why not equip a third more units with artillery tubes and make the ration 33 per day per gun? It it not like you won't have time to fire each gun 33 times. It wasn't always that bad, but it illustrates the point.
Hellas
Why not represent German tank or infantry companies as a single platoon, too? I think the scenario designer has the necessary tools to model ammo supply and headcount restrictions and if the TO&E says 4 guns per battery, then it should be 4 guns per battery.
Hellas
PROBLEM SOLVED! TO&E of batteries in game is 4. I overlooked that I had set the headcount to 80%.

Hellas
How could asking a question when something looks not correct be embarassing? There are no stupid questions - only stupid answers...
womble
How could asking a question when something looks not correct be embarassing? When a slightly more careful look would have shown the reason. There are no stupid questions - only stupid answers... What? Like that one? Whoever started preaching that starry-eyed poppycock needs shooting, as do all the idiots who promulgate the nonsense. Of course there are stupid questions. There's no harm in a stupid question, perhaps, especially if the asker accepts they could and should have known better. Doesn't mean the question wasn't stupid.
Hellas
Very interesting behaviour. Gang members trying to cover up their incompetence?
Michael Emrys
Very interesting behaviour. Gang members trying to cover up their incompetence? That depends. Are you a member of a gang? Do you often have feelings of inadequacy that you feel you must conceal? Michael
Baneman
Seriously ? There's no need to get on Hellas' case. Many of us have asked stupid questions ( thinking particularly of the "oh dang, I had the trees turned off..." I've been there ). It can be embarrassing when you realise your mistake, but to his credit, he 'fessed up - often the thread just quietly disappears.
Michael Emrys
Seriously ? There's no need to get on Hellas' case. Seriously? In my first post I was offering commiseration. Instead of accepting it in the spirit of comradely friendship, he came back with a snippy reply. Sometimes I get tired of turning the other cheek. Sgt Joch
Why not represent German tank or infantry companies as a single platoon, too? surprisingly, the front line infantry divisions in Army Group Center were at full strength on june 22, some even had extra men or extra equipment (i.e 78th Sturm division).
