I don't know of anyone at the moment, but in the past we've had a few. Harry Yeide with several interesting titles under his belt certainly would qualify as a professional historian. Unlike doctrine, the TDs often had to perform the same functions as tanks but were usually not issued enough HE to avoid running out in intense combat. Michael Well, I have some of Yeide's writtings, and Bird rings a bell as to having read some of his stuff but I do not see anything on my shelf with his name.
