Monty Patton
Newbie questions about the Combat Information Bar, as I can't seem to find the answers from the instruction manual. 1) The top bar is projected combat losses, but am not sure what the symbols mean. For example, what does the tank symbol & wavy lines mean? 2) The middle bar has +/- percentages, but am not sure what they mean. For example when it says "+25% (-50%)", what does that mean? 3) The bottom bar is attack & defense type or attack power? For example when it says "SA=3, SA=2(+2DB)", what exactly does that mean? thanks so much! (great game though, the best strategic game on WW2 that I can find!) Bill101
Hi 1) The tank symbol means that the unit attacking hasn't moved before attacking, so it benefits from a combat bonus. This is known as a Blitz attack in our WWII games and as a Prepared Attack in WWI games. It can make a lot of difference! The wavy line means that you are attacking across a river, and this will reduce your attack chances. 2) The +/- is the variation that the icons in 1) will make to the result. 3) The bottom bar is a more detailed explanation of the combat odds, so SA=3 means that your unit has a Soft Attack value of 3, while the DB is Defence Bonus. TA/TD would be Tank Attack/Defense. NA/ND = Naval Attack/Defense. Bill
