There are no elevation/depression limits on firing as coding the AI to deal with these dynamically presents a big problem. Instead latest version of the game engine includes some penalties on time to fire when vehicles are positioned so that targets are out of limits, which should at least encourage players to put their vehicles in proper positions. second one is, 50 caliber guy can't take in the compartment BFC , Please fix that oddities Regards This one might be tweakable to some degree, but if you look at the geometry of the commander's pulpit position on the Hellcat, it would require some extensive body contortion to use, especially against ground targets. Wodin Posted October 19, 2013 Share Posted October 19, 2013 togi..the elevation issue is something thats been mentioned many times..I'm surprised you where unaware of it..it's why they have put in modifiers in the future patch to deal with the issue the best they can. To be honest it isn't something I've really noticed whilst playing and hasn't detracted from my enjoyment of the game. All that for a problem that very rarely occurs The .50 cal gunner is a different story. You are saying that you want them to make a completely new custom animation for just that one vehicle? Maby they could make him pop up a bit more, but that would most likely put him outside the vehicle when firing to the front. Like Wodin said, it takes quite a bit of contortion to fire that gun, no current animations would really fit. Fizou Posted October 19, 2013 Share Posted October 19, 2013 togi, The reason the elevation isn't limited is that its to hard and time intensive to code the behavior for the AI to react in a proper way when it cant depress/elevate its gun to hit a target. This wont change (at least not anytime soon). What has been done is that such a unit suffers from time penalties so that it wont be able to engage as fast as it would if it was in a "proper" position. A good work around if you ask me.
