Holman
The huge bridge models included with MG are visually first-rate. However, I'm having trouble giving orders on them. Because they often extend for some way over the ground below (see the Arnhem road bridge), it's difficult to give orders on the bridge itself. The game thinks I'm trying to set the order on the ground beneath. Any pointers here?
womble
[Facepalm] Not at you, Martyr. I thought BFC said they'd sorted out bridge waypoint setting and pathfinding...
Holman
Trying to place new waypoints on a long bridge is very frustrating. I've had better success dragging already-placed waypoints onto the bridge (easiest using the straight top-down view), but they only "take" in certain spots.
Guest
Threads like this really belong in tech support. What type of video card do you have, Martyr?
Holman
Threads like this really belong in tech support. What type of video card do you have, Martyr? My card is an ATI Radeon HD 5800, 1 GB. I'm surprised that you see it as a video card issue. CMx2 has had problems with bridges since the beginning, and this doesn't feel like a video issue so much as a game interface one. You know more than I do, though. Have other people found it easy to place waypoints on the bridges?

I certainly wasn't trying to be argumentative at all. Mine were honest questions, as I thought bridge pathing was a long-established interface issue. EDIT: And thank you again for that advice. The solution suggested in the thread (turning off "Left-Click Compatibility" in Options) definitely makes a difference. With that option on, it was nearly impossible to plot waypoints on the bridges. Now it works!

In the game settings menu on start up turn ATI left click off and badda bing badda boom my waypoint bridge problem was solved.
