z1812
Has anyone experienced the situation of a difference in set up LOS and the LOS available once the game starts. For example during set up an infantry gun is placed as you wish it to be with the LOS you want, but when the game starts you no longer have it.
YankeeDog
Are you checking LOS/LOF immediately after moving the gun or heavy weapon? Even during the set up phase, it takes the weapon crew a few moments to "settle down" and get into their fighting positions around the weapon. Make sure to wait for this to finish before you check LOS/LOF, as otherwise you may get a different result. Another possibility: the FACE or COVER ARC orders during setup can change the location of the weapon within the action spot, and therefore change LOS. So during setup, make sure to verify you've got the LOS you want after you make any FACE or COVER ARC adjustments. Also, if you set up the weapon, check the LOS, and then tell the unit to HIDE, it will have drastically reduced LOS while hiding. LOS should return if you unhide the unit. Finally, if you leave the game running for a long time during setup, note that virtual time progresses during the setup turn at "real time" rate -- that is, the sun moves through the sky etc. during setup. So if you leave the game running in a setup for a few hours, this can change lighting conditions considerably, and therefore change LOS. The game "jumps" back to the designer-set starting time (and lighting conditions) once you hit GO. As such, if you start a setup, go have dinner, and then come back to it a few hours later, you may want to save, quit and reload before making final LOS checks to make sure you're checking under the correct lighting conditions.

GerryCMBB
Another thing I think that changes is if you set up a MG in a bunker. This came up in GAGs AAR with Bil. Seemingly the bunker sinks into the ground, or some such strange thing, after setup. To me it doesn't matter how many beautiful unit models there are if you cannot apply normal tactics (set up a MG with good LOS, have your stationary tanks have a better chance of spotting than his moving ones, etc.).
