(Aside from the interesting discussion following this post: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showpost.php?p=1459754&postcount=109) This tidbit turned up in the Wikiencyclopedia the other day: 1778 – American Revolutionary War: France invaded the island of Dominica and captured the British fort there before the latter even knew that France had entered the war as an ally of the United States.
