Stalins Organ
Looks like another chapter in the on-going border tension following their war in the 60's - it is always of concern when countries with total populations of over 2 billion start talking tough at each other - but no-one is going to launch an actual invasion over the Himalayas in either direction!
JonS
it is always of concern when countries with total populations of over 2 billion start talking tough at each other Exactly. We all remember what happened last time. but no-one is going to launch an actual invasion over the Himalayas in either direction! No, but they could start lobbing nuclear tipped weapons over the Himalayas. in either direction. It's highly unlikely though. I feel sorry for the poor sods who've spent the last couple of weeks at ~4,000m living in a tent. That's gotta suck  And all so their boss can gain a few pecker points
Stalins Organ
Exactly. We all remember what happened last time. we do?? not sure I do.....it was in 1962 and I dont' think I was really paying much attention, but Wiki tells me a couple of thousand soldiers died and the Indian minister of Defence had to resign due to their poor performance, while on the global political stage China seems to have lost oa little prestige, became more closely aligned with Pakistan (or vice versa), and India had a rallying call to help national unity.
JonS
we do?? Well ... no. I'm fairly certain that two "countries with total populations of over 2 billion" haven't ever previously "start(ed) talking tough at each other". So, actually, it's never been a concern
