Turquoise textures after modding

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

I'm having this issue: whenever I try to modify a bmp file with a simple painting instrument I get my ingame texture modified but covered in a sort of turquoise green shade.

Any clues on what the problem might be?

I am using Windows 7, GIMP as mod program.

Thanks in advance,

Kieme

Thank you very much for your help. the image was of the same type and colour depth, so this is not the problem. This is an example of the problem ingame.

Practically, I used a texture, just copied it over the original bmp image and saved it in the same size/format etc. This tecnique worked with walls, for example, but when I try to apply it to a bunker this is the result, the new texture is there but its color is distorted by the turquoise color.

A different tecnique with same results:

When I use GIMP and just paint something over the bmp image, like a simple spray line in black, then overwrite the file with the same characteristics as the original, then I see in game the texture with the spray line I added, but all the elements pertaining that detail (all those which were in the bmp file) are covered in turquoise too.
