John Kettler
Is there any way to somehow add the Fahrenheit equivalents into the briefing? I don't speak much Celsius (know 0 and 100), but have little sense of what's good or bad in between, having spent a lifetime under Fahrenheit and having had little exposure to Centigrade/Celsius. Sublime
Me either. But an easy rule of thumb for you is 30 is pretty warm/hot (80 to 90 f). 20 is nice. (50-70) 10 is getting cold. 0 is freezing point. before some Euro jumps all over me, as I said it's a rule of thumb.
LongLeftFlank
"Add 15 and double it" is a reasonable heuristic for temps between 40-75F
Holman
I use these for reference: 0 is freezing, 10 is cool, 20 is perfect, 30 is hot, 40 is desert hot. (100 boils water.) 0 C = 32 F 10 C = 50 F 20 C = 68 F 30 C = 86 F 40 C = 104 F
General Lee Irked
Sheesh JK A man of seemingly unlimited reference to WWII groggy notes/links has trouble with the Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion?
MikeyD
I dimly recall Carter suggesting we convert over 40+ years ago and the nation reacted like a scalded cat.
Erwin
C'mon guys... conversion is easy: 100F = (100-32)/180 x 100 = 37.8C approx. Or: http://www.csgnetwork.com/tempconvjava.html
verulam
It's actually double it and add 30, then minus about 2.
umlaut
/5*9+32 Divide by 5 Multiply by 9 add 32

John Kettler
I appreciate the help, and am glad I cause mirth for some of you.'Tis the season! Judging from the responses, there is no way to implement the desired feature in the game. I vaguely recalled the basics of the conversion equation, but I was hoping something might be doable in game. The by 10s is good enough for my purposes. No longer feel clueless! Regards, John Kettler
Sgt Schultz
Remember to watch out when you PBEM between the USA and Europe. No telling what may happen when you mix American Standard bytes with those Euro Metric bytes.
