Fionn
Well, Richard, I don't think this has anything to do with realism at all at this stage. it's purely about what is the best way to institute this order. I see your concerns but personally I think that I'd rather be sure NOT to blow ambushes than anything else. ------------------ ___________ Fionn Kelly Manager of Historical Research, The Gamers Net - Gaming for Gamers
CoolColJ
How about an option flag/hotkey SHift-H or something Auto unhide on/off ------------------ CCJ aka BLITZ_Force My Homepage - www.geocities.com/TheTropics/Beach/4448
Richard
I agree with the option way (I think giving options is ALWAYS the best for everyone, take Imperialism II for a good example). However I have no idea if this would be easy or not to implement if it is hard coded in the executable... ------------------ Richard Arnesen The Wargamer http://www.wargamer.com
Guest Big Time Software
FYI, the default behavior has been changed so that you now have to hit HIDE after issuing a target order. Fionn, the big problem with the way it was before is that forgetting to unhide a unit could have very dire consequences, more so than forgetting to hide someone. Plus, I myself have mentally estimated and I would say that most of the time I want to target and fire on the same turn, so the default should go with the behavior that is more common and more problematic when the user makes a mistake. It has to be one way or the other, and we think that on balance it will be significantly better with the logic reversed from the previous way. Fionn
Grumble, another control change to get used to ... Well, I suppose I'll get used to it but EVERY time it blows an ambush I'll curse this thread ! ------------------ ___________ Fionn Kelly Manager of Historical Research, The Gamers Net - Gaming for Gamers
