Overlay function in map editor

Recommended Posts

1. Make a screenshot of the area you want to map.

2. Save it as "special editor overlay".bmp (without the quote marks) and place this file into your Z folder. (note it must be a .bmp)

When you open up the editor and go to Map, you will see it laid over the map. Pressing the "o" key will toggle between 33% opaque, 66% opaque, 100% opaque, and invisible.

First of all you must know the scale of the overlay. Beter if you know its measurement (i.e. 1500 m x 875 m), but if you know the overlay scale then you should know its real size.

When you open the editor the overlay, no matter its size, conforms to the current map . I think default size is 320x320 m.

Just enlarge the map until it is the correct overlay size (1080x575 m, 2x2 Km etc. whatever is the real size of the overlay). You will notice the overlay is adapting to the changing map.

It means that if you put a 1000x1000 m overlay on a 1000x2000 m map the overlay will stretch in a 1x2 proportion in order to conform to the map.
