necramonium
This is something i am missing in the game at the moment, especially if you managed to flank your enemies and your squad is not completely in its position and one soldier already starts shooting at them giving away your perfect flanking position. Maybe something for the future games? It's very handy for ambushes, i know you can make this happen if you are the defending team and making a scenario, but that won't help you in battles you did not make yourself! You can also make them hide, but that won't guarantee they won't shoot.
Ranger33
Use a very small covered arc and your guys shouldn't fire at anything. I would prefer a "return fire only if fired upon" sort of button, but that's the best we have right now.
Goose of CM
To avoid detection when moving use slow in the movement box then hide upon arrival of your destination.

Units will generally break a CA if directly fired upon.
Wodin
Other means..are you sure? I though people have complained that troops with a cover arc only shoot at anything in said arc? Still I'd use hide and a small cover arc to set up an ambush. The game at present (especially for WEGO) is missing two or three much needed commands. Target AP only, Target AP only cover arc, Hold fire and I'm sure there is one other but I can't remember it. Those three commands would be superb, and I can't really see that they'll be some sort of nightmare to programme either.

Squads will ignore cover arcs depending on experience, morale and perceived threats. And also they have to be able to see, so your squad is facing a hedgerow and hiding, they won't see anything to shoot.
IanL
Like Ranger33 suggests: set a short cover arc on your squad. Then issue their move order. At the end point place a face command. That way the cover arc will apply until the squad gets to the end of their move order and then the cover arc will change to a face command. Tada no one should start shooting early.
