Tactical Wargamer
Good European map.....large one would be grand. Any recommendations? Thanks
Sergei
Why... but here you go: Why are you asking, though? What is "good"? Do you mean a CMSF map based on anywhere in Europe or just a map of Europe?
MikeyD
The CMSF map maker can do a good European maps if your notion of Europe includes Greece, Sicily and the Russian steppes. CM:BN has sort'a spoiled everyone for European terrain maps. Then again, CM:BN makes really lousy desert landscapes.

Sergei
The NATO module's Atlantic Games scenario's map is based on a location in the Hürtgenwald. It pits Americans (US & Canada) against Europeans (German & Netherlands).

Tactical Wargamer
Nice one but looking for a larger one. Any ideas?
Sergei
It would be wise to narrow your request down. For one bit, the Alps is nothing like the Netherlands, nor London is like Russian Taiga, yet they're all in Europe. And 'large' is not very precise. What are the measures that you need? What type should it be?
MikeyD
I forget how big "UK Outmanoeuvred" is but its little more than fields, houses and a road. Instead of calling it south of Damascus say its south of Bucharest.
Mord
RCMP...these mods might interest you if you are shooting for like a modern version of WWII. You may already have them but if not... http://cmsfmods.heroku.com/mods?author_id=491&game_type=4 Mord.
George MC
I've done a few maps that are more 'Euro' in feel. If you download the scenario pack for Forging Steel you'll get some large euro type maps. Also Panzer Angriffe uses a very large euro type map. All available from the repository.

Boche
Forging steel had a good "cold war" vibe to it, really enjoyed it. Its the closest thing ive played to the "Euro feel"
Wodin
The NATO module's Atlantic Games scenario's map is based on a location in the Hürtgenwald. It pits Americans (US & Canada) against Europeans (German & Netherlands). Sounds interesting. I didn't know a scenario like that was included. Does it mean the game has terrain files for Northern Europe? I was going to buy the NATO module if I saw I number of mods\scenarios being made with regards to a fictional battle with the States, Canadians and British against the Germans and Dutch. Haven't seen anything so I never bought it.
Sergei
Sounds interesting. I didn't know a scenario like that was included. Does it mean the game has terrain files for Northern Europe? Not specifically, but Syria is a diverse country, ranging from rocky mountains to sandy deserts and also lush garden valleys. CMSF reflects that, so it's possible to create a bunch of environments (I recall someone even made a few jungle maps?). The biggest give away are the flat topped buildings for which there isn't an alternative.
AkumaSD
If you download the scenario pack for Forging Steel you'll get some large euro type maps. I can't second this enough. I had a great time playing the maps in Forging Steel.
Sublime
funny you mention it wodin. I saw the battle description and it was one of the first I played. I was very surprised more blue on blue and red on red were made. I definitely want to see some US vs Brit battles in when the BN Commonwealth module comes out. and Waffen SS vs Heer.
LUCASWILLEN05
A proper Eastern European houses mod would be nice, particularly for more rural areas.
