New Combat Formula?

as I recognize there are important differents in combat from GC to GC Gold

If you take a German army from the very beginning and attack over a river you receive in GC a 25% penalty, the damage falls from 1:4 to 1:2. But the same army in GC Gold only attack with 1:1. Seems like a major change in the formula, isn't it.

Damage for the polish defender should be

Attacker Multiplier (,85) * (Attack type value (4) + Attacker experience (0)) - Defender Multiplier (,65) * (Defender Experience (0) + Entrenchment (0) + Bonus (0))

=> ,85 * 4 = 3,4 (- 25 % River Penalty) = 2,55

But now in GC Gold I attack with only value 1. What is up now?

Hi Amadeus,

Thanks for the report and it looks like when we added when we made the 'Attack across a river penalty' editable in the Editor, the subsequent adjustment to the combat formula was done incorrectly.

This will be fixed.

50% penalty seems good to me better than 25% but at the moment it looks like 75% penalty. A bid too much in my eyes.

It was indeed acting like a 75% penalty and that was the problem... a bit of incorrect math on my end in implementing the formula.
