AttilaTheHungry
In the '1914 Call to Arms' game, what is the best strategy for the German navy in dealing with the naval blockade?
Ivanov
The best strategy to deal with the blockade is probably trying to sink as many as possible ships of the Russian Baltic Fleet and gaining some NM points in the process. Any attempts to engage Royal Navy are usually counterproductive. You could also launch U-boots against the Allied shipping, but remember that each sunken U-boot means about 200NM points lost by Germany.
Glabro
OTOH you gain morale by doing UNW. And the US joins anyway in 1917, that's what I've been told at least. Now if it doesn't....it's a lot more problematic.
Bill101
The US won't necessarily join in 1917, without checking not since patch 1.02, and they may well keep out of the war for quite some time. It all depends on what both sides do, and how long the war goes on. Diplomacy, declarations of war and the use of unrestricted naval warfare will all be big factors. kirk23
The best defence is what Germany done during the war, used the light screening forces to clear submarines and enemy destroyers, anyone that tries to use their heavy units is nuts, the losses for both sides are unsustainable, apart from that any damaged German ships are closer to safe harbours for repairs, while the allies are not,and risk even more losses trying to save badly damaged units. Also whats not in the game mines,Germany had mine free channels that allowed them access, but reduced the attack areas for submarines etc, wonder into a mine field and well you know the result, you get really wet and its along swim home!
