stuart.tonge@hotmail.co.u
Hi I have the gamersgate version of the game which runs fine in vanilla (just downloaded from GG) and when patched to 1.10 from a GG link. However, when I download the 1.20 version from: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_versions&Itemid=221#Combat Mission: Shock Force - Gamersgate version This file: Combat Mission: Shock Force - Gamersgate version 1.20 and then run the game it asks for physical media, and will not run. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Schrullenhaft
Sounds like you may have installed a 'Paradox retail' patch that is for the disc-based copy-protection system used by retail copies of the game. You may want to download and install this patch and see if it corrects the problem: Atomicgamer download of Gamersgate CMSF 1.20 incremental patch
stuart.tonge@hotmail.co.u
Yes that one works fine. I'm sure I downloaded the one referenced in the correct place on the patch page - although when you follow the link through to downloads, the patch you actually get is labelled 'Paradox' rather than 'Gamersgate' like the one your link (posted above) goes to. Maybe they could update the support page? Thanks for the help.
Okinawa
I have a similar problem. I had no trouble with the demo and then picked up the paradox version from Amazon. I put the correct paradox patch 121 on which cost 1 dollar but when i run a game most of the map appears black until i zoom in. I tried it on a spare pc and the same happens so I have reinstalled and patched up to 120 which seems to be problem free. I double checked the email from battlefront and it is the definitely the paradox version as it says CMSF-PX-DW on the email invoice. Both pc@s use gforce cards which have up to days drivers. one is a 7600 gts about 7 years old and the other is a 9000 series which is about 3 years old. I fiddled with the GFX setting but got no joy. Im new to the game so im not running it with mods of any kind. any ideas guys? thanks Harv
Schrullenhaft
The patches are NOT all-inclusive. With the Paradox retail (disc) version I suggest installing the game and then patching with the 1.01, 1.02, 1.03 patches (these can replace a missing "training" campaign) and then patching to 1.10 and finally 1.20. At this point THEN install the 1.21 Paradox patch. After this patch you can install the 1.31 and 1.32 patches. If you desire to install any of the modules, then you will need to re-patch afterwards since the Marines module will bring you back to 1.10/1.11; British Forces will bring you back to 1.20 and NATO will bring you back to 1.30. Once you have a module installed, only use the Battlefront.com patches.
