Newbie H2H questions

Having not played a CM game since about 2004 I was over the moon to see the release of CMBN - having only found out about its release very recently after my roughly annual check of the battlefront website. I'm loving the new game and now want the challenge of playing a human opponent.

Could somebody please advise me about the best way to find a human opponent? And is it difficult to set up a H2H as opposed to PBEM? Im based in the UK if anyone out there facies a game.

best way to start a pbem is by using dropbox (place to share the files with your opponent) and the tool H2H Helper (automatically copies the file in the right folder and makes clear which turn it is).

I also have a few other questions if anyone can help. I noted in the instructions that MACs can't use mods, is this still the case? if so, is the H2H Helper compatible with a MAC? Do you use Dropbox in conjunction with H2H Helper or independently?

Finally, do most people play 'live' via an IP address or are most playing H2Hs via PBEM?

H2HH works on OSX. You can use Dropbox with or without H2HH.

My guess is that most people play PBEM.

I think that these days most people are playing PBSFS ... Play By Shared File Service

Emailing CMBN files is a complete pain, none of my opponents do that.

Popular shared file services are Dropbox, Box.net, sendthisfile.com etc.

Hi, I'm a Mac user too.

Firstly, isn't it great that CM is back on the Mac!

Secondly, you can use mods with the Mac version. I have about 30 mods in my 'Z' folder and they all work great. The only downside is that BFC haven't given Mac users a version of 'RezExplode'. This means that Mac users cannot create and package their own mods or un-package third party mods.

Lastly, I have found some good opponents on the Blitz website. If you ever fancy a PBEM game please get in touch via Blitz. Make sure you use H2HH and Dropbox- so much easier.

It is also a place where you can find opponents. Has ladder and leagues.

The language does not matter to play but you will understand perfectly.
