Gold Expansion Brute Force map scale Question

The description states that the scale is 40 km per hex. Does this mean then that it's quite close to the SC:WW1 map scale, and Finland, for example, would be 1160km/40km = 29 tiles long (if it was modelled fully and not cut off in Northern Lapland)?

This sounds like the kind of global map many of us have been waiting for. It should be double the size of Nupremal by a rough count (in Europe - I understand the Pacific and the US as well as the Atlantic might be in 80km scale, that's ok for me).

But is there a catch?

The European portion of the map is indeed very similar to the WWI map but this is a customized map that was developed before we released the WWI map so there are some differences. However, based on your description above I think you'll love it as it really is a fantastic campaign

Yeah, sounds great for us who love a more detailed Global game. Maybe that needs to be emphasized more in marketing!

The pacific is 80k per hex. Each side's AI has a total of ~16 different strategies. Im the designer.

The split scale was needed otherwise the pacifc would be unmanageable.

It's quite fine, I agree with the decision as the distances covered are longer.

Does this also mean that the Atlantic Ocean and US are in 80km scale to facilitate Ocean travel (including tactical ocean travel, not just using loops).

Yes there is a FULL North atlantic from USA to Europe so the sub war can be played out.
