  1. So, I'm new and I'm wondering which game would be right for me, between Shock Force and Normandy; here's my perspective: World War 2 has much more declassified material on it, making it easier to study and use for advice on tactics, roleplay, and scenario creation, with a lot of varied equipment and combat doctrines. On top of that, WW2 combat was much slower paced compared to today, which may or may not translate to game mechanics, but seems like it could lead to some fun, hair raising situations on the battlefield. When it comes to Shock Force, it seems more immersive, being able to
  2. Hello, This is going to be an AAR of the Combat Mission Scenario: Going To Town as the Ukranians. I'm playing against a personal friend who I don't believe is registered on the forums. Before I start, thanks to @Rinaldi in particular for his advice with regards to making this AAR. I am new both to making AARs and playing as Ukraine, so I fully expect this to be rough around the edges, any advice would be appreciated. The Briefing I am a shattered Ukrainian Mountain Mechanized Unit who has been thrown into this town to halt an advance by a Russian Mechanized Unit. T
  3. Hello folks, I'm a lifelong strategy gamer who is new to the Combat Mission games, and am elated to finally be able to join you all now that I have a computer powerful enough to run it! Hopefully I'll be hopping into PBEM battles after I've cut my teeth a bit against the AI. I'll be sure to make my way over to The Few Good Men forums when I'm ready. I come to you today with a seemingly simple set of queries which I have found near impossible to answer. Though I am a WWII history nut, my focus was always on the politics and grand strategy of the war, never the nitty gritty tact
  4. I've been doing various games and battle reports on my gaming channel, and I recently did a couple Combat Mission Games that I thought some of you might enjoy. They're at: And the other one is at: Happy gaming everyone!
  5. Are there any plans in the works to make campaigns multiplayer? and im talking the whole series not just FB.
  6. Hello, I am a new player to Combat Mission and I am wondering if this game is a good buy for someone who is a new player to the series in general. I initially made this forum account under the assumption that I was going to buy Combat Mission: Black Sea. After playing the demo of Black Sea, I found it was okay but I don't think the fast-paced deadly gameplay of modern combat doesn't really appeal to me once tanks and air support get involved. I played the demo of Red Thunder as well and was overwhelmed by the sheer number of units, but I think that I can get around it now after some time w
  7. So, as the thread name says My black sea crashes every time I choose Scenario editor or Quick battle from the main menu. I can open battles and campaigns and even start the games on them no problem, but it just crashes on me on these ones. I'll try to find my crashlogs (where are they?) and post them here as they may be of help.
