Welcome aboard mate and enjoy! Myself I took the plunge in CM one month ago after being aware of it for like 15 years... Oh man you have played the monster War in the East! I gave it a try but did not get hooked. Not wanting to divert you from CM, but just in case, Second Front by Microprose, released last january, is an excellent tactical wargame inspired by Advanced Squad Leader. -
Hello Tim, As a security and convenience you should. Think about the day when you will change your PC and the hassle to reinstall a BFC version: serial, patchs, upgrades, etc. I've never been in the process of registering a BFC game with Slitherine, but I've already requested a Steam key from Slitherine, it's automated and you get the key immediately. Then registering a game with Steam takes less than 1 min.
-
I know Steam and BFC versions are functionally the same but when most of your games are on Steam, it is interesting to get/transfer there your CM games. That way, all your games are centralized and you don't have the hassle to manage serial numbers for re-install. Additionally, patch or upgrade installation is automatic. I have Steam CMBN and BFC CMFI. When CMFI will be available on Steam, I will redeem a key.
-
Salut, CMFI for Steam (and Slitherine) is planned for next september.

What makes Red Thunder special?

By the way, the order for realeasing CM games on Steam this year is: CMBN, CMRT, CMFI, CMFB. It looks like it is also the order of popularity of the titles... -

Artkin, It's very kind of you to provide all those detailed and precise informations Much appreciated You know, I'm kinda lazy so I'm not really into scenario creation. I don't play either Quick Battle, I only play stock scenarios. So I'm not sure that the master maps will be useful to me. However I'm interested in the 'more diverse and interesting environments'. I still have many many hours of play with CMBN and CMFI but I think CMRT will be my next purchase when time comes. -

Hello, Can you please elaborate a bit. Do you mean that CMRT maps graphics are superior compared to other WW2 titles? Or are they better designed, in terms of geography and terrain? Other? -

Yes BF allows a total credit of 2 Mb that you can manage this way (see picture below). You have to delete your older pictures to free space. Not so convenient. Best way is to host your pics on an external website, for example https://postimages.org/ but there are plenty other. Once your pic uploaded there you get a link. In your post window, lower right corner, click on Other Media/Insert image from URL, then paste the link. -

@womble Of course it cannot (will never?) replace a human, and in this case a CM expert one. But try to type in Google the request as formulated by kevinkin, which was very accurate and specific, obviously you won't get the level of response of ChatGPT.
-
Not sure what you asked and what was exactly the output. But that warning might be related to intellectual property.

@Vinnart Mate, I've used your unit base mod for a week now and I cannot imagine returning to the BFC's default. So once again thanks and congrats! On a side note, what is the comics your avatar comes from? I like the graphic style.

Hi, Does anybody has the step-by-step by Rambler on how to do translucent trees please? I know it's a shot in the dark, but one never knows...
