I haven't heard back from BFC support since March 9, despite asking for other things to try. Maybe the problem is not solvable. I've asked multiple times before and since March 9 for a link to download the prior version so I can at least play the game solo. @BFCElvis can you help me out with this?

I believe Shady and I have the same problem. I just updated to CMSF2 2.06, and now the game won't launch. I get the blue spinning for just a second, then...nothing. This is the same problem I had with CMCW 2.05. After installing that patch, the game stopped working in the same way. I am running CMBN, CMFI, CMBS, CMRT without the latest patches, and all work fine. I surmise there is something in the coding for the PBEM system that is not compatible with my install (running up-to-date Win 10 on a Mac). Yes, I put in a ticket for the original CMCW issue....a year ago (no resolution). Yes, I will put in a ticket for this issue. This is very frustrating that I can't get updates and keep PBEMs with my friends.

This is similar to the (unresolved) issue I posted about. I’m using Win 10 via Boot Camp on the latest Intel Mac with a Radeon Pro XT 5700. I never get to the black screen, however… I get a few seconds of the Windows “thinking” wheel and then… nothing. No icon ever shows up in the tray. For me, the other titles take 10s or so to fully open, but the icons do show up in the tray while waiting. I also tried running in various compatibility and resolution modes to no avail. I also deleted my CW install and did a full reinstall from BFC. This also did not work. I filed a ticket, but haven’t received any help. Sucks not being able to play a game I paid good money for.

Hi Elvis- Unfortunately this isn’t the problem. I’m trying to install the Windows version under my Windows 10 Boot Camp install on my Mac. It’s not a macOS problem. In fact, I was able to successfully install the CMCW patch and run the game in my macOS installation. It’s a long story, but I don’t play the game any more on my macOS partition - all the CM titles exhibit freezing and crash to desktop with my new hardware under macOS; hence my switch to Win 10 Boot Camp where the games run flawlessly on the same hardware. Again - different problem. not sure what I’m doing wrong since all the prior upgrades/patches worked in their respective Win or Mac installs.

I’ve downloaded the Windows patch and installed in the correct directory (same as the original install) under my Boot Camp drive (on my Mac). I can see that various files have been updated, but the game won’t run after the install. I’ve tried running as admin and even re-activating, but the game won’t run. No error message - just nothing happens. Any help as to what I am doing wrong would be appreciated.
