  1. First of all, "Dr. Joseph Backofen" was not a Doctor, he was a contributor to Armor Magazine. Second of all, the sources you linked have nothing to do with Joseph Backofen. Also the sources have nothing to do with what we are discussing. Also, a War Thunder Reddit post is not a credible source. Please do this. I don't doubt you're a real human being, I doubt you were ever a "Soviet Threat Analyst".
  2. I couldn't find your name, assuming it truly is John Kettler, anywhere on what you provided. You have no way of proving your experience. Regardless of the validity, you still rival sources with none of your own. It's been brought up multiple times, but you are adamant of the existence of a 76mm HEAT shell that could frontally penetrate an Abrams, which is completely ridiculous and has never been backed up with any sources or evidence other than your "experiences". Anyhow the problem is, you can't prove you are who you say you are, and you claim to be a source of a ton of information, much of which is dubious at best. So, do you have any proof of who you are?
  3. Prove any of this, please. The issue is that you just claim these things. You have never backed them up once.
  4. I have been on this forum for a while now and one thing that has been crossing my mind a lot after reading more and more of John Kettlers posts is how many times he has claimed to be a Soviet Threat Analysist, yet he has never backed up the claim with any credentials. I would normally not randomly ask someone for their credentials but, there has been many times where Kettler has said something, or claimed something, then falls back on his claimed experience as evidence when presented with sources that contradict him instead of providing sources himself. This is obviously potentially very harmful to the collective integrity of Combat Mission itself, considering the amount of input this forum has. So @John Kettlerplease provide credentials as to your experience please.
  5. I have CMPE, and after playing a lot of it, testing it, etc, I have come away most shocked with how feature complete and functional the convoy command is. I am absolutely surprised it was never put into Engine 4, and specifically, that there are so many rumors about how non-functional it is. I hope it comes in Engine 5. I wonder what prevented it from becoming a universal feature?
  6. Unfortunately the project got put on hold because my life got busy. If I was to run it again, it wouldn't be a Beta test. But I really need to find a more efficient way to run my end of things. A lot of time was spent managing the playing board. Maybe if there's interest I would host a public game eventually, thank you everyone for your interest!
  7. Can you explain some more about what is incorrectly stated in this list? Many of us felt like it was a little disingenuous to the series as a whole considering thermometric warheads are in Black Sea, and cluster is in Cold War.
  8. This has since been changed. Threads, their archival, and management is now a feature of the platform.
  9. I'd like to address that the Combat Mission discord is probably the fasted growing community for Combat Mission, if not already the biggest. I insist that many of the forum members step off their high horse and try to understand the Discord isn't just a few immature children, but one of the most productive and diverse places that relate to the game. The BFC.com forum, while being an amazing resource, is becoming more and more obsolescent as time moves on. One would benefit from not settling on one means of discourse forever.
  10. Those kids aren't shouldering their weapons correctly, also not impressed by their uniforms. Is there a mod in the works to help fix this?
  11. This after we fix HE and Airburst damage to tank subsystems.
  12. Tortoise and the Hare except they finish at the same time and the hare starts a couple years later. EDIT: I'm checking the forum every minute until then though haha
  13. Speaking on retirement, what will happen to BFC once you and the rest of the crew retire?
  14. Hint at a game that includes the Spanish? Spanish Civil War, or maybe very interestingly, the Ifni War? The Spanish could use some CM love haha.
  15. When you buy it on Steam, both Steam and Slitherine take a cut before it gets to BFC. When you buy direct from BFC there is no cut taken. It's pretty simple.
  16. A lot of us use Combat Mission Helper, currently it's the best way to play the game in my opinion. For those who haven't used it; it will send and insert turns from and into your game files for you via dropbox. You can do PEBMs completely hands off. You simply just have to open the game and click play then it's sent. I hope Slitherines servers work like this. The ease of play and speed of turns going back and forth is a unbelievably huge QOL improvement.
  17. Reminder for everyone to and get their friends to buy CMCW on battlefront.com, BFC gets more of a cut + like stated earlier; day 1 access.
  18. Thank you, as a Fighting 41 I hope I squeeze my way into that testing group! haha
