  1. I assume the first rule is you don't talk about this? If not, can you talk about it .
  2. If I recall correctly another possibility for our H2H was 'Tigers at Ogledow' from the same battle pack, but I had already tested it in single player mode. And it was another truly great battle, with (as you say) plenty of surprises.
  3. Thanks for clarifying Steve, and thanks for the update in general. I'm not complaining about any of it . EDIT: I would add that I would buy @kohlenklau's suggested Early War stuff. I would of course also buy any early war stuff BFC might put up, but I think you've said that's unlikely?
  4. Okay, @Ultradave and I have reached the end of Cat and Mouse at turn 118 (Cease Fire pressed on both sides). We had no issues with saving etc. but perhaps we were lucky. Anyway, it really was a great game and thanks are due to @George MC.
  5. Well I suppose I started the thread, and I'm not offended, in fact thanks for adding to it. You may also be right, but I think I'll continue to issue the reverse command when I get the chance. Of course it could just be psychological - I *think* I'm having an impact on bogging/unbogging by doing something instead of just waiting, but in reality I'm not. I don't know.
  6. maƱana noun tomorrow; the (indefinite) future.
  7. You can of course also use keyboard movement in addition to or instead of mouse. Works okay for me, but I never had any CM1 titles...
  8. Great news Steve, and hopefully great news in the update.
  9. It's been a while but did you get sorted with an oppo? If not, let me know .
  10. Oh well, without knowledge of the logic behind it we seem to have varied experience. Perhaps just luck then, depending on Charles' coding...
  11. Oh sir you cut me to the quick. No not really , such testing is not for me either. But I would say that when my vehicles go forward into a bog, my impression is that reversing back out of the bog seems to work more often that not. Does the game know which direction I was travelling (forward or back) I have no idea, just wanted other people's thoughts.
  12. Okay so that's an English expression . Anyway you know the old trick of reversing your vehicle out of a bogged position? Tonight I was reversing my Luchs to start with and got bogged, and wondered whether going forward would work like the normal opposite direction trick. It did. Is this to be expected or was I just lucky?
  13. Yes, the famous 'rubber-banding'? I've also had my panzers drive through the bridge entrance into the river / river bank below rather than onto the bridge. Managed a quick reverse to rescue them but wasted a lot of time which I didn't have.
  14. He also posted 5 times that day, and all seemed normal. What I found said 'Passed away suddenly at home on 14th February, 2022, aged 53 years.' To put my mind at rest that we are definite on this, don't suppose anyone can confirm his middle name? I knew his first and last names but not the middle. Please DM me if so.
  15. Yes sadly I think that's the case. I found the obituary John mentioned, same name, same home address but I won't link it as it has other family details. And John and I found other information elsewhere pointing to the same conclusion. Like John I'm hoping we've got this wrong, and I'd like nothing better than Andy posting to say so. But if we're right, it's such a shame as Andy was one of the nicest guys on the forum. Always helpful and generous with his time, not to mention sending me model parts and kits (which I think may have been his major passion, you may have seen photos of his huge collection). Anyway, I've been missing him for almost a year now and will continue to miss him... Hope we're wrong Andy.
  16. Thanks John, as alluded to I have a bit of bad feeling about it after what I found, but didn't want to post any details in case I'm wrong. I can DM you if you're curious. I sure hope I'm wrong.
  17. If you haven't seen this old and rambling (for years) thread before, you might find it interesting: EDIT: A quick summary of the thread and your post could be 'You're not alone'.
  18. I don't think it's a forum holiday or ban and I don't really recognise that as a description of Andy. In any case apart from a few occasions I've seen on 'The Thread' I think holidays and bans are unusual, and the date doesn't stack up with that timeline. I searched elsewhere and found things but couldn't be sure what I was looking at unless I knew Andy's age. My fingers are still crossed.
  19. Yes, I asked the same question here about his sudden absence: Andy is (hopefully not was) definitely British. I had been in pretty much daily contact with him up to that point and he had sent me parts and even full kits of 1/72nd scale WW2 tanks, all free of charge. Lovely bloke, hope he returns...
  20. Correct, I did not. But I think I will now... And belatedly, welcome!
  21. Being perhaps controversial, does this suggest that no-one else has played the second scenario of that campaign ? I'm sure that's not the case. You've peaked my curiosity though, but I'll have to get through the first scenario first...
