It is wise to leave some rear area units with enemy units that are surrendering - until the system automatically removes them from the map.

+1 to that, doesn't take long - perhaps a turn or two.

They are still shown as 'regular' icons on the map, albeit 'Broken'.

I assume they are showing a white flag and have their hands up?  I ask because some of the unit (which you may not have spotted) may not have decided to surrender.

  2. The area fire is certainly flying here 🫣.  It's just a game and we can play it how we like, with agreement if another human is involved.

Being the naive person I am, I've never even mentioned house rules to anyone but it's never been a problem.  Except for when I was sent a full page of house rules that I didn't quite understand.  That game stalled there as no explanations were forthcoming.

Checked the 'scenario depot' and the author of  the scenario is listed as 'Bootie', hope this helps

Bootie is the guru who curates / maintains etc. the repository.  Some of the older items in the repository show him as author, I think as he may not have known who the author was when transferring them.  Is that correct @Bootie?

Slightly dim question here. I have two copies of SF2 on two different drives of my main gaming and graphics computer.  I can't tell which one I am using when I play, I launch them from the start menu or shortcuts.  I want to delete the obsolete one.

Hi Julian.  That's not actually a question 😉.

Can you right click on your shortcuts to get the location?  And maybe do the same for the start menu?  If they all point to the same place you can trash the other one (first checking for any additional content you might have added in the Z folder etc. that might not be in your 'correct' place).

That's probably a dim answer, forgive me if so.

It might be due to the size. When I looked at it earlier it did seem to stick on 98% for quite a while when loading. I doubt I'll actually be playing it anytime soon, too busy with  real life, and Downfall at the moment.

Maybe, it is high on the 'hugeness scale' (sniggering and rolling of eyes).  However I've just loaded up 'No country for tanks' which is at the top of the charts in my CMBN, and it loaded without a problem.  Perhaps every man and their dogs are on map at the start of Ranville but not in No country...

I'll experiment a bit more as I've not had a scenario fail at the first hurdle before.

  6. In other news, I'm also about to start a CW PBEM against @Ultradave.  I have never played CW, but as Dave put it 'it's what he trained for'.  Should I be worried 🫣?

I don't think we'll need to post an AAR, I already feel something in the air... artillery 😵‍💫.  And TOWs.

for all I know my opponent might not have even gotten around to looking at the next turn yet

You're talking about me now aren't you 😉?  We need a slight adjustment to our game and then it'll be plain sailing I'm sure.

@Vacillator and @Centurian52, I'd invite you two to a Cold War or Black Sea battle over  PBEM+++, but I see you're both general officers and I'm a lowly noncom so I'm not sure how fair that would be. 😉

That would not be an issue, anyone can beat anyone (at least when I'm involved).  What might be troublesome for me is that I'm yet to play either CW or BS.  Both of us are somewhat busy just now anyway but I'd be happy to oblige at some point once I can at least tell my RISEs from my non-RISEs (ooh err missus).

  8. We'll see, but I'm in the UK as it says over there <---, with FTTP broadband at around 650 to 700 Mbps download.  Loading up the initial turns in PBEM++ was instantaneous but they are the 'password' turns with not much meat in them.

As for Dropbox I have to manually press the download button, maybe because I'm not using Whose Turn Is it or CM Helper?

Is Elvis in the house? @BFCElvis

Just saw this Andrew, you need to make @BFCElvis look like this @BFCElvis by selecting him from a dropdown list as you type.

No doubt you are my granny and I'm sucking eggs 😉.

As I'm just about to start a new PBEM++ with @Centurian52 what's the latest word on the street with respect to PBEM++ issues?
