  1. Thanks for the straw man morality lesson - of course I agree with everything you point out. I hate the Nazis and what they did - more than you could possibly know. The point of my original post was twofold - that films of the use of heavy artillery weapons in the streets of Berlin were pure propaganda produced after the battle was over and - secondly - that people need to be careful about glorifying the communist "liberators." I notice that you make no criticism of the comments above that make jokes about the systematic - and officially permitted - raping of an entire female population -
  2. I hope you realize that scenes like these were filmed in Berlin after the battle was over - just wanton destruction for propaganda effect. Then, of course, there was the raping of nearly every women (regardless of age) and girl in Berlin. Can't look at scenes like this without getting sick thinking about the rest. I had a German teacher who I met up with in Berlin - long ago. She had been raised in Berlin, but did not know about the Soviet monument at Treptower Park (below). I told her the story that the communists had circulated about the monument - that a Soviet soldier during the batt
  3. This one is not for free, but I'm just finishing it - found it very well-researched, well-written, and entertaining - but no so much if you are a Montgomery or Patton fan...
  4. Correct - it is a U.S. Ford GPA - a good example of Lend-Lease aid to Soviets during Second World War.
  5. Well, I believe that is also what many of them slept in, so not sure that your description is incorrect.
  6. Great shot of the U.S. M29 Weasel (U.S. Lend-Lease) in action.
  7. I find the Washington Post and New York Times far more appropriate as they are already full of ...
  8. I know the subject has been discussed before, but - based on the latest tech available - what is the best software to take screenshots and videos? I have been frustrated in trying this. Thanks.
  9. Haven't seen the movie, but you have definitely perked my interest. With regard to coming out of the woods as it relates to this excellent scenario, I think this shot says it all. Cheers!
  10. Yes, I played the Germans, although I am thinking about playing it again as the Americans (both sides have some great equipment to play around with). The scenario will feed you units at different start points - I did not play the units where they arrived, but moved them (while still in the rear zone) to fit my own scheme of maneuver and it worked great. Hope you enjoy this scenario.

  12. I don't usually take the time to do something like this, but I just finished the battle "Chaos at Ferme Diedenhove" and I have to say it was the most enjoyable scenario that I have ever played in this series - and I like this series a lot. I don't know who the scenario creator was, but you captured more than just history in this scenario, you seemed to truly get the feeling of the "Battle of the Bulge" - the U.S. Army's largest battle (speaking as someone who as has spent a lot of time reading about the battle and touring the Ardennes battlefield). Naturally, all of the scenario creator's effo
  13. Or maybe everyone can just keep on doing what they're doing on this module - looks like we will all be in for an awesome addition to this great game.
  14. I know it's a bit late in the process, but any chance of including Barney Rubble in a scenario or two?
  15. These are unique games - especially the WEGO system. They make for very enjoyable historical simulations. Nothing wrong with identifying problem issues though - how else will game get better?
  16. A "stable and prosperous society" does not need to put huge portions of its population in gulags or to starve them to death...so I guess you are saying that all of that was the fault of "fascists or capitalists." Or do you mean that all of those who suffered and died under the Communists deserved it, because they were "fascists and capitalists"? If so, I hope you stay out of politics.
  17. You raise some good points, but I think that if the Nazis had begun the invasion in May - as originally planned - and not had to have bailed out Mussolini in the Balkans and Africa - it would have been lights out for the Soviet Union. Good thing for all of us that Adolf had a strange attachment to Il Duce...
