Just FYI if you've redeemed your game on Steam be sure to put up your review of the game too. Just noticed that Black Sea is rather sparsely reviewed compared to SF2.

Semenovka is an eastern suburb of Slavyansk. In 2014 , during the struggle between Ukrainian army and DPR militia, it became a battlefield. In june it was the last supply route for the DPR forces in Slavyansk who controlled it until the withdrawal.

Unless RAF are ported in... on the NATO side of course
I think very many CMSF2 owners would pay for a Russian module. From a technical perspective most of the RAF is already there from CMBS, just need to be reskinned for the desert and have their tech knocked down to 2008 levels. Or not, I wouldn't mind them in with all their 2017 tech. It's a fictional conflict already, why not!

I was playing a TF Thunder scenario with a lot of close range encounters. This was about 150m and there was an enormous explosion and 3 smoke columns. I could not see the vehicle behind the targetted tank, just its smoke. I guessed it was either an IED car or a BMP, but the review showed this...

Note the hit decal over the first road wheel, there is one on the second tank (you can't see it) on the right hand side.
I'd heard of this happening but had never seen it. very impressive.

    Cheers.....I think!
TBH, part of the issue with the H&E scenario stuff is that the idea started on a whim, seemed to work OK so I decided to expand it, without much though as to what that would involve.
Winging it is definitely not the way forward and that's a fact....I'm on the third or fourth iteration of most of the maps, some have nearly doubled in area, I'm sure you get the picture.

Saint_Mattis reacted to Zveroboy1 in Afghan National Army Mod
I have added a couple of extras as a bonus to the pack :

    - 4 portraits, Mord style
    - a HQ icon for the soldier's panel to match the ones created by Vin.
    - a list of Afghani names to replace the Syrian names
Also I have removed the string.txt from the mod. All it did was add the new weapon names when you hover your mouse over the weapon icons in the soldier panel. But every patch broke it so in the end I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. If you already had a previous version of the ANA mod installed, make sure you delete the string.txt file located in the following folder :
    ak74m to M16/Sound & script.

    Download ANA pack v2.03

Afghan National Army for Combat Mission Shock Force 2
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay so I am going to release this because it has been sitting on my HD for about a month without me tweaking it further. So it is probably good enough in its current state.
This is a two-in-one mod that turns some of the Syrian Infantry into Afghan National Army. Here is what it does in detail :
Syrian mech infantry ----> Early Afghan Army
Syrian airborne infantry ----> Late Afghan Army
So basically you get both uniforms in a single mod and it is up to you to decide which type you want by selecting the corresponding branch.

    Early Afghan National Army :

They replace Syrian mech infantry and use AK's with a woodland camo uniform. The camo is supposed to represent either regular US woodland, a variant from Iran or Pakistan or a cheap chinese knockoff with a slightly different pattern and colours.

    Late Afghan Infantry :

They replace Syrian airborne infantry, field M16's and their uniform is a mix of woodland camo and the new Spec4ce Afghan Forest camo.
If you plan on using late war afghan infantry, I suggest you use regular airborne infantry as opposed to mech airborne infantry, both located under special forces. They will have a full allotment of RPG ammo.

When to use early or late war?
There isn't a clear cut date really but here is what I could gather with a quick search online.
    Uniforms :
The ANA began to issue its own pixelated camouflage design in 2008-2009, designed by Hyperstealth Industries and named "Spec4ce Afghan Forest" pattern with some initial batches of these uniforms were made in China.
    Weapons :
The U.S. military began shipping about 55,000 used Marine Corps M-16A2 rifles to Afghanistan with the intent of outfitting every soldier in the Afghan army with one by the late spring of 2009.
Of course both of these changes happened gradually but before 2008, you should opt for early ANA and after 2009, go for late war ANA.

    Issues :

1/ The texture for the buttstock of the AKS-74U used by the squad leader of the paratroopers and the AKMS of the mech infantry looks a tad messed up. I think this is caused by the weapon swap and shared parts so I don't think it can be fixed for late war ANA. For early ANA, you could just temporarily remove the AK74M to M16 weapon swap folder from your mod directory.
2/ This isn't directly related to the ANA mod because the issue stems from the Syrian uncon fighters-Taliban conversion that I made previously, but since both mods are likely to be used in conjonction, I should mention it here. In my Taliban fighter mod, I swapped uncon fighters (the guys with the black pajamas and balaclava) with uncom combatants models and re-textured them both to use the same skin. Syrian uncon fighters and Syrian regular soldiers share the same boots though.
If you want to pit ISAF forces versus Taliban, there is going to be no issue whatsoever.
However if you plan on having a battle with ANA on one side and Taliban on the other, either the boots worn by ANA soldiers or the boots worn by Taliban fighters (depending on the load order) will look messed up because they share the same texture.
Again, I need to emphasize that this will only be an issue if you are using both my ANA mod together with my Taliban fighter mod (And NOT combatants who don't wear boots but trainers).
To keep it simple, I recommend that to represent Taliban forces, just use my Taliban combatants mod and only use my Taliban fighters mod sparingly. Only if you need heavy weapons like Dshk and recoilless rifles that combatants don't have for instance. And finally make sure the ANA mod loads after the fighters. This way the glitch won't be as noticeable.

    How to install :
Extract the mod in the following directory : Documents/Battlefront/Combat Mission/Shock Force 2/User Data/Mods

    Credits :
37mm did the weapon swap for the late ANA. Without his help I would probably not have bothered with the weapons and only modded the uniforms.

Saint_Mattis reacted to aleader in How to get your CMSF2 game on Steam
I'd like to know this too.  To me, this is the biggest benefit to having the game on Steam as the current process is a royal PITA.
I see the prices have been discounted here enough now that it may entice me to buy at least one of the modules.  Seems there's no benefit to getting the bundle as the price is the same now.  Will the bundle be available on Steam at some point?

Saint_Mattis reacted to Gkenny in Battlefront should implement a publically viewable bug tracking site.
As I have played combat mission over a few years now, one thing that I have constantly seen is how disorganized the process of bug tracking/fixing appears to be. People post multiple topics for each game, other bugs simply get lost in existing topics, and unless a beta tester or one of the devs happens to see the post chances are it won't be recognized, whether it be campaign issues, Tac AI issues, or model issues. As such, I feel both Battlefront and the community would greatly benefit from a bug tracking site that allows users to post issues with descriptions and evidence, which can be viewed by all such that people can identify what has already been reported and acknowledged by the team. This would also allow others to contribute additional evidence/discussion to any specific bugs reported.

For example, take sites like these from the game Arma :
    https://feedback.bistudio.com/project/view/1/
    And from some mod teams:
    https://dev.cup-arma3.org/
    http://feedback.rhsmods.org/view_all_bug_page.php
