Slitherine/Matrix usually provide Steam keys for previous purchases when launched on that platform. So I hope this is not an exception.

Obligatory question for when this happens:  have you decided whether to issue Steam keys to current customers to let them transition over to that platform?
In case anyone hasn't used Steam and is wondering why - the quality of life improvement from never having to worry about installer .exes and getting automatic patching is something you'll never want to come back from.

I completely agree with you! It is about the depiction of a battle event, not about a moral classification of the participating units.
Otherwise, no WW II game should be released.
Besides, not only the skull units in the Siedlce area were "not the nicest", but also the Red Army units were not without. They not only committed serious war crimes against Germans, but also against Poles, Romanians, Finns... When they are not allowed to participate in the game anymore, it is quite empty on the battlefield. By the way, not all Japanese, Americans, English, Chinese, Poles... were particularly nice.
But with some Germans you can't talk sensibly about this topic. For them the world is black and white, and Germans in World War II were basically evil. It just wasn't that simple.
I thought for a long time whether I should take part in the discussion, because it's actually only about a game. Obviously, for some people it is about more than that.

So you agree that the game simulates only the forces that took part in battles, yet then you say that it doesn’t matter if the unit also murdered civilians away from the front? That makes no sense.
There should be a clear separation between what the soldiers did during the battles simulated in the game and outside of them. The guy doesn’t want to make scenarios where you burn churches with people in them, Jesus.
He clearly states that he wants them “because these units did fight at the frontlines during this period and because the campaign should be historically correct. No more, no less.” Is it that hard to understand? If I want to simulate battles around Siedlce in 1944 should I make it with just the Soviet side because Totenkopf soldiers weren’t the nicest guys either? That’s stupid.
And telling the guy that he’s obsessed or saying it’s his “beloved” unit right after mentioning their war crimes… Jeez, he wants to make a historically accurate campaign, not get a tattoo with the Wolfsangel..

If I had known the reaction, I wouldn‘t have asked for these units 😬
So calm down everybody, please. If I remember correctly there have been Police-Units available in the good old CMBB.
So, it has been a normal and unspectacular question and not any obsession - because the campaign, I am working on, will actually includ parts of such units...because these units did fight at the Frontlinie during this period and because the campaign should be historically correct. No more, no less.
I apologize for feeding Trolls. This forum should never be used for any political discussion.

me neither.  I also hate to admit it, but its taken way too long to come out.  I know its insane to even say after reading 5 pages of aragorn bashing over saying it but its friggin true.  Im sorry guys but I think the game needs a new engine or to gracefully retire.  not be dragged around as a mummified corpse like Norman Bates dead mom.
I mean after these modules what then?  Berlin city fighting in this engine? ugh.   Stalingrad in this engine would be vomit inducing.  Theres a lot of other things too.  I love this game series and its given me more pleasure longer than any other series but Im burned out, have been burned out, and the engines over 9 years old...
Think about it.  CMBO released in 2000.  I remember it well.  9 years later I was playing a fixed SF and waiting eagerly for CMBN.   Not eagerly awaiting a 10th CMx1 release.  Im sure others will totally disagree and thats great  - Im truly happy you either found this game or can continue to get joy and delight from it, instead of playing it so long it has no allure or mystery.  Its all old tricks to get around broken or fudged in game mechanics, unrealistic stuff, and knowing that its really invisible die rolls and not bullets coming down that street that decide if those men get hit.
cheers to all that remember who I am.. miss some of ya

So the British Ministry of Defense is subsidizing me playing w my toy soliders & tanks?  And all I have to do for this is wait a little longer for the new release?  I am considering this a win for all of us CM gamers.  So maybe I'll not throw temper tantrums and wet  my pants over not getting my toy immediately.

Not exactly a good ambassador for the Netherlands, is he.
The BIG PICTURE for you guys is BFC remains solvent and prospering sufficiently to keep putting out the products they want to put out. In the '80s the struggling Harley Davidson landed a contract to cast artillery shell bodies for the Pentagon, which allowed the company to remain alive for another 40 years. BFC is getting business. That's a good thing. They're not about to go the way of Brøderbund and THQ.

Honestly, I don’t think the Warsaw Uprising is an appropriate topic for CM, as it is not designed for asymmetrical conflicts. In this special case, there are too many “non-miltary” aspects involved.

There are so many................  But I'll mention one I just happened to re-visit lately.   CMRT Der Ring Der 5 Panzer Division.  It was made by @George MC.  The map is a work of art and is the size of a master map.   Anything by George MC or @Combatintman is quality work along with many other scenario designers.  If you haven't played Der Ring Der 5 Panzer Division, I recommend it.
Edit:  For campaigns CMRT KGr von Schroif is excellent.  It comes with tactical maps in a zip file so the player can print out the maps and use them for planning and SitMaps.  There is also a table displaying the unit, commanders and their soft factors.  A PDF file briefing handbook consisting of 133 pages comes with the campaign.  The PDF handbook contains a campaign flowchart, graphics, tables, symbol keys, historical information etc.  Very cool, detailed, immersive stuff with this one.  Also created by @George MC.
The below link is for the campaign.

Personally I think the module shouldn't also be named after those red bastards, but should honor the last stand of the Wehrmacht.
Last Stand, Last Laurels, something like that.
I know this will piss off the Bolshie lovers, but fair is fair.

This is the first time I have ever pre-ordered a Battlefront product, because when I saw the module on the store page, I had assumed it had been released.
    Whoops.
