Because the intent is only to dismount, if dismount was an option any other unit could crew the tank. Sometimes you dismount (bail out) to recon over the ridge. Not all situations are modelled. The TC can't be split also crews can't crew other tanks even in the same formation. I tried to crew an elite crew of a tank which had a green crew.

Most of the issues you mention can be done. You need to play a lot and experiment. You can't reman a gun because the battle drill says destroy the gun hypothetically. Everybody has his pet theory and this is mine. Breaching three different methods the one in the manual is the most reliable one. Tank using MG is targeting light. Line direct area fire you need the full battery each with his own fire zone. Target light with mortars you get something like harass in direct fire mode.

Surrendering units (raising hands)
chuckdyke replied to PEB14's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
It is poorly modelled, surrendered units should follow orders but you can't do it like you could do before in the CM1 Games. In SF2 it is downright gamey. -
My sense is that Israel needs to define an endstate in this war that does not look like 2 million Palestinians being driven into the desert to die.

It was the old Nato Helmet too. The inside was made from pressed Palm Fiber if I remember correctly. Maybe they used that one. Kids used them when they played soldiers during the 60's.

The one on the very top of the hill. I put my spotters on the edge before the river.

M10 Booker and compare it with a Leopard 1 possibly modernized for the 21st Century. The Leo is maybe 3 tons heavier and have a similar if not the same gun.

In Edge of Darkness the sniper gets a full contact with the bunker but the Tactical Air FO even after five turns in the same spot as the sniper doesn't get a full contact only has a tentative contact. Things like this start to annoy me.

Reason I like Red Thunder, a boys dream came true. I finally can play with JS2s. Waited 60 years I am now 73 but it was worth it. -
Was watching this YouTube video about unmanned vehicles and I found it interesting. It is Israel among others so my apologies if it is off topic.

One thing is clear all the arguments of for or against won't stop the warming of the planet. Besides I think 40C is nice warm and comfortable. Once I see the zealots no longer flying to their destinations I may take them more seriously. They are completely counterproductive, stop pollution is far more positive and is what most people can relate too.

I live in Australia and worked in 50 C. Oh yes the two wars are completely not connected and I will use the reference Battlefront Forums Wargamers Community. Far better than fully accredited journalists. I know people who resort to personal attacks are worth zilch. To work in 50 C is lovely speaking from personal experience it is lovely a year and you are used to it. 50C is about 114 F. Now stick to the Ukraine War topic not the game.

I am 73 by 2050 I won't be here any longer. Climate change is good business for these people. They don't fly economy for starters. Oh yes my electricity runs on solar and use the car twice a week. Not much the world can do about climate change even if it is caused by man. Lift the third world out of poverty and you may get the support of something like 6 Billion people. Yes that takes industry, our indigenous people lived in 50C during summer for the last 40000 years. Better get used to it.

These two wars are connected but I maybe wrong. It got the attention away for a short time or longer. The media plays an important role.

Just what they need Climate Change Zealots in the Ukraine.

Mini Gatling guns which can spew 6000 .22s a minute could be successful against drones. But we don't see anything new from that direction.
