  1. Is there a page forum that gives step by step instructions on how to create a campaign? if not, can someone provide that? I'd like to create a new campaign for Black Sea. I know with everything going on in that AO, no one wants to touch this game anymore. But I'd like to continue to work on it. so, if someone could help your boy out id really appreciate it.

    Also really enjoying the rangers!
Any idea why I would be getting a black texture (or rather, no texture) for the M4 suppressor? Seems to happen regardless if I have the "suppressor mod" folder installed or not.

I definitely I F'D that part up 🤦🏾‍♂️ sorry guys

  3. I previously released an infantry pack for CMBS sometime ago. Since thence been using the Black Sea models in SF2. SOOOOOOO I thought why not an infantry pack for SF2. This one will be a bit better than the last. its still in progress. im in school full time so when I get breaks in between. I'll be reaching out to some of you for help and I'll definitely shout you out in the end. What can you expect? Im an infantry guy so I want to make things as authentic as possible for everyone!!!

    1. 10+ infantry units

    2. Updated Sounds(M4,M249, Javelin, etc)

    3. Modded uniforms(Combat Shirts,ISAF patches, rolled sleeves, etc)

I am not at my home PC with audacity and the CM folders right now but here is what I recall that I do...

Grab a working M249 file and right click to jot down its properties. size in KB and under details, the bit rate in kbps.

Then import/open your new one in audacity and modify it to be the same.

Modify AFTER you select the entire file. The sound squiggle thing with timeline should be darkened.

    Export as a wave file.

Make sure you name it properly too.

right click on that NEW one and check if it matches the original specs

    Slap in z folder.

Restart the game and try it out.

IT WORKED!!!! Audacity really is the program to use. Although the result sounds a bit weird, beggers can't be choosers I guess

Anybody can try on their own using freeware Audacity. Find your desired music, download Audacity and I can assist you with advice in making it happen. There are a few common snags.

Ive been trying to import a sound mod for the M249 but I can't seem to get the specs right. i've downloaded audacity but it just won't work. any advice?

  6. So I want to add some different sounds to the M4A1 and other weapons. I took the sound from YouTube separated the clip I needed. I was told it needs to be a mono 16-bit 44100hz and bit rate of 705. Im using Logic X to try and do this. When I name it the clips gun 5 m4 0 then put it in my Z Folder there's no sound to the rifle. Can anyone help?

    1) Download Audacity.

    2) Set Audacity up so that it's recording your own PC's output. (Plenty of tutorials on this online.)

    3) Either play Squad or watch high quality Squad videos (or whatever original sound source you may choose).

    4) Hit record in Audacity.

    5) Stop the recording and save that large, raw file as a .wav file.

    6) Cut the larger .wav file up into smaller individual gunshot sound segments.

    7) Edit these new .wav files to remove clipping and to conform to CM requirements. (I'm not at my main PC at the moment, so don't remember these particular file characteristics off-hand. You can open one of the defaults to be sure. They are definitely mono though, not stereo, so there'll be a noticeable loss in sound quality at this step.)

😎 Name these .wav file to match the CM sound files you want to replace.

    9) Put your new wav files into your Z folder. No need to mess with or move the originals.

    Tada!

This is all actually way less cumbersome than it may sound. Once you do it a few times it becomes almost routine. You can even combine sounds / tracks in Audacity and start messing with the program's default effects to get some really unique and high quality gun sounds. The one thing I will urge is that you should avoid clipping at all costs. There's a volume war going on with many downloadable sound packs, and to be honest, as much as I respect the time that people have put into them, many of those downloadable sounds just don't sound so great if you're playing with high quality headphones, for example.

Ill be using Logic X to adjust the sounds. Ive done it before with the m4a1. but I just lowered the frequency and compressed the sound to where it doesn't hurt the ears.

Definitely not learning but there can be multiple AI plans for each scenario so it could be that you are up against a different AI plan that happens to be a good counter to your initial moves.

okay that makes total sense. Thanks for clearing that up. Never knew that there were different AI plans

  9. So I I have always used the same strategy when it came to the task force 3-69 campaign. but it seems like the AI has gotten used to it and has started crushing my men and vehicles. I lost the initial Bradley. 3 out of the 4 tanks and tons of infantry. Has this happened to someone else? I figured out a new strategy... but dam!!! This new strategy actually caused more casualties on the enemy side. This actually makes the game more interesting to me. so if this is a feature we never knew about. kudos to the developers. 123 enemy KIA/0 friendly losses
