  1. The cause is the AMD specific shader code from BFC and not your video driver. As a Radeon user myself; I've found ReShade to be worth the hassle to use as it provides a safe means of overwriting/supplementing the aforementioned shaders. Unfortunately, the Radeon settings for Color are Display based and will have wider ramifications outside of CM. Best to avoid as you are happy with your color as it is. You'll also need to keep Shaders ON. Otherwise, you'll lose the hit decals and see white, or off color, dots/holes in their place.
  2. Every year manufacturers are adding more model specific tools to automobile components not to mention locking down the software needed to what was once thought of as routine diagnostics. It's progress I guess...
  3. Please continue to do so @IanL. When I wish to wax nostalgic; I'll install CM1 and quickly realize that in the olden days of command delays it wasn't all that fun nor realistic after all!
  4. Folks are unaccustomed to looking at decade old posts for good quality advice that remains applicable to today. They skip over all of the SOPs, techniques, how-to's thinking it couldn't possibly apply to engine 4.0. And, yes. Some are only realizing now what a 'simulation' means and will move on. This game has always been easier for military vets to grog because it plays the way they were taught. We civvies have the learning curve. Thankfully, you guys continue to be patiently welcoming. I only play a combat vet on TV...
  5. That's by design. We prefer dull over traffic congestion!
  6. Use your snipers to: 1) observe and; 2) engage high value targets. Let them do that from concealed positions which are preferably as far away as possible from any 'stuff' detrimental to their health. You want casualties to be specialists (gunners/FOs/etc.) and officers (HQs/Squad Leaders/etc.). Let them choose targets to ensure that. Quickly relocate once you notice incoming fire. There is nothing wrong with keeping them 400m away. You're looking for quality and not number... Much better for them to suppress an ATGM team than score a couple of hits on a squad. You have other 'stuff' on the map to score high volume casualties with.
  7. I've noticed faster load times for CMSF2 versus CMBS but put that down to number of trees/features a map contains rather than the number of mods used. Could it simply be the leaves swaying in the breeze slowing systems down which aren't as prevalent in CMSF2 maps? Lager maps are slower. But, the delay in CMSF2 is counted in seconds whereas in CMBS/BN it's minutes...
  8. Good job! Would it work like this for any vehicle carrying extra ammo? If so, we may now have specifics triggers for the ammo sharing section of the 4.00 manual...
  9. You may be better served with calibrating your monitor first on your desktop (using a reference photo) until satisfied with the warmth/coolness of the display. The default color profile is usually designed to grab one's attention in a fluorescent warehouse store. You should be able to switch settings fairly easily on the front panel of your monitor. Failing the above, your video driver color space settings can be tweaked.
  10. Referencing the USMC manual, the M32 uses a 6 round revolver-type swing out cylinder while the M203 has a single shot feed system. I'm hoping someone will be able to better explain how the ammo sharing would work with this vehicle. I've not noticed any sharing during play but that's more likely lack of opportunity as I would normally not have ATGM vehicle close to troops needing that ammo... The supply dump feature works nicely with the M240G and SMAW from the MTVR/AAVC but otherwise it's hazy for me and I send a team to acquire the small arms/LAW as needed.
  11. For Windows, the patch installs "shock force v201.brz" in the "Data" folder located in [game root]. When you start the game it should show 2.01 as @MOS:96B2P stated.
  12. If anything, for PBEM, it would be nice to have a five minute slice early on for the setup/approach to lessen the early exchanges some. Barring a user defined time setting, one minute is perfect. WEGO is not RT and one needs to tailor play/planning/execution accordingly. Two completely distinct experiences. My 2 cents...
  13. I leave it on when the turn is processed, the few seconds it takes to complete doesn't break the immersion for me. I use contrast/sharpen effects so it mostly looks black and white when it does happen. I do toggle it off when navigating battles/save games. The improved visuals is worth this minor inconvenience. To each his own...
  14. The activation code is contained in the email you received when we (Paradox customers) bought the "unifying" patch (v1.02) for a dollar back in the day. I'm not near my email so the patch version quoted is a WAG. In any event, it's the update that was made available to bring us inline with the BFC licensing scheme... Happy New Year!
  15. I think the first is trying to show that the muzzle flash doesn't line-up with the weapon. As to the other, the HMG is not pointed in the direction of the tracer.
  16. You may be too close or too far. The effective range is listed as being 400-2000m. Otherwise, the TacAI does a good job choosing which weapon system is used. There isn't anything you can do as a player other than select TARGET. While the LOF is there for the gun, there could be a hindrance for the wire-guided missile such woods or some other feature...
  17. Don't run the installer a second time. A simple copy/paste will do just fine and won't cause licensing issues.
  18. You're welcome. I should clarify and state that I mean the default settings of the actual shaders you enable in ReShade. I find each CM release is getting prettier OOTB. I don't use near as many mods. And, the first time, I don't miss having a UI mod such as is offered by JuJu's or Steppenwulf which either says something about my eyesight or the developer's effort in later releases... All the best and don't hesitate to ask follow-up questions. There are a lot of posters here using ReShade to great effect.
  19. Less than optimum rate of fire. Letting the tubes cool will turn them back to green.
  20. Play QBs until the much anticipated patch is released in the coming weeks (mid-Jan?). Then, we can complain about that. Seriously, hold off until the patch arrives. The pathfinding, units leaving prepared positions, onboard artillery, force TOE, etc. will be effected. Meanwhile, the QBs are sufficient to bring you back up to speed.
  21. Check @CaptainReyes on the YouTube for some cray-cray reshade settings across many BFC titles. I think @HerrTom posted his on this board.
  22. Check CMODS as there were a few across the titles as the mod was version specific. The file (Strings?) the mod was for tended to change each release/patch. I don't know if it exists for CMBN v4.
  23. Well, an Abrams is an Abrams - nothing else spots like it. Everything else isn't as otherworldly...
