  1. WTF are you even talking about??? Biden admin has been trying to get more aid to UKR and it's blocked by a group of GOP house members. This is common knowledge to anyone w any concept of reality. Have you been watching fox news & newsmax again? You, once again, come up with fantasy world nonsense. And instead of getting mad at me for this post, maybe you should be angry at the people how fill your head w this utter nonsense.
  2. Well, some good news amidst the wide belief that 2024 will be a stalemate overall. Let's see, RU oil/gas infrastructure being pounded. Loss of another naval ship. Adiivka in trouble but RU losses very high it seems. The oil infrastructure attacks seem particularly promising. Russians don't care about other russians (or particularly fellow citizen non-russians) dying and suffering, but they sure don't like to suffer themselves. Like long lines for gas or rapidly rising prices. And Putin needs that oil money. A good reason to not start wars -- civilian infrastructure is super vulnerable. There's plenty of trouble signs and problems for UKR, but good to see some positive developments here today.
  3. What will have changed is that trump will have learned that he can act with impunity and no one will stop him. Jeebus F-in' Kristo, he actually led a coup against the elected gov't and nothing has been done about it as people quibble and wet their pants over legalisms that trump shredded already. It's insane. The supreme court has no executive authority, how would they make trump comply with anything? Congress, if there's enough snakes to not impeach (probably will be), then what are they gonna do? Call out the army on the white house? -- the army doesn't answer to congress. Seriously, if 2nd term trump in unimpeachable, then he can do anything he wants that is within his power. And within his power he has the military, homeland security, the justice dept, and many other agencies that answer directly to him. Our country is very much ruled by norms as much as laws and Trump will know neither apply to him. Trump is actively, both in legal filings and in speeches, making the case that the president can do anything he wants, commit any crime, and without that power then it destroys the presidency. It's bat**** but that is what he is currently arguing. An appeals court just shot that ludicrous position down, thoroughly and sternly, but it's headed for the supreme court, who hopefully will simply refuse to hear it, letting the appeals court ruling stand. Seriously, why does any think that someone who holds the position that they are above the law worry about the law? Just like why do his supporters think it's impossible that he sexually assaulted a woman even though he was recorded bragging about grabbing women by the p--y and how because he's a tv star no one could do anything about it. He literally bragged about sexually assualting women, yet someone his cult can't believe he'd actually assault a woman. Jesus, just take the f--er at his word and you can see how dangerous he is.
  4. Trump is a master at maniupulating stupid people.
  5. Because Trump in a second term would somehow be bound by the rule of law?? Must the TheCapt's famous sense of humor.
  6. "NATO not paying their fair share" is just trump's excuse to do putin's bidding. It's all bull**** and it plays into MAGA's ever present fantasy that everyone except them are 'takers', stealing from the MAGA folks, the world's only hard working, tax paying 'Murican's in the world. It's not about the money. Trump is just playing them as the fools they actually are. It's similar to when Sen Rand Paul spins his bull**** about caring about whether US aid has proper oversight. Everything else out of Paul's mouth on the subject shows that he thinks Putin should have UKR and is totally justified in his invasion.
  7. I think was DanCA. I actually hope they'll spend this money on drones. Maybe one version would be like one seen here recently, that can carry a person-sized payload. Comes in, delivers a soldier or ammo or food and leaves w wounded soldier. ~100kg payload should do it. Someone mentioned that it could get shot down -- a lot small target than a helicopter medevac, that's for sure.
  8. Yes, Trudeau is a total nazi, FFS Which totally justifies mass murder, child kidnapping, destruction of city after city after city, endless missile attacks on civilians, sabotage of world energy & food markets -- I am sure I am forgetting some other atrocities. yep, totally justified.
  9. How does telling lies on TV for years, lies that actually kill people (vax disinf), along w election lies, jan 6 lies, 'prepare' anyone for anything? What the hell do you think fox news is? It's a lie machine.
  10. you're f--ing kidding right? TC is an experienced interviewer? He's the paid shill of a mass murdering monster. WTF? You actually sound like you think this sick farce is real? (sorry for the tone, but can we please not treat this seriously and waste discussion on it)
  11. lots of somewhat bad news on UKR, but I did see that US shell production ramping up. 36K per months now, but 70K by end of year. I am guessing that was 155mm. So only 1k per day now but 2k per day soon. On top of UKR domestic + EU supplies then UKR might get to artillery superiority by end of year. By superiority I don't mean they shoot more shells than RU since UKR is more precise and does more w less. I bet it would be really hard for RU if their 10k per day was matched by 5k UKR, instead of what seems to be ~2k per day for UKR now. Assuming of course that certain rotten US snakes don't continue to sabotage things.
  12. But let's not play the false equivalence game. There's crazy on the left, but it's fringe, not in power. Even a very left representative, like AOC, is still quite in the norm of a left-leaning politician in just about any western democracy. Meanwhile, on the right the crazies actually are in control, deeply in control. And these people would be considered insane and completely outside the norm in just about any western democracy. The diff is the crazy on the left is a fringe w no power. The crazy on the right controls the party which right now controls the house of reps. For UKR, this is of course terrible. People that thought Tucker carlson was a truth teller are blocking UKR aid. And their mouthpiece is in RU about to give interview to Putin. I would love to see how Tucker would've interviewed Hitler "Gosh, Mr Fuhrer, now that you explain it to me I really see how very very dangerous those jews are to you and your beloved, pure blood nation. I hope I can help more people to understand the reality of the situation because the mainstream media falsely claims the jews are somehow victims."
  13. exactly what I've been wondering. So a pile of rubble once called Andiivka is lost? As TheCapt says, it's doesn't give RU any more operational or strategic options. Putin will act like they just won the war, like w Bakhmut. Hold it while it makes attritional sense, fall back when that's no longer the case. And maybe the f--ing criminals in the US House of Reps could stop doing the bidding of Putin and send the gear that will make a difference. We all saw Tucker Carlson in Moscow recently. He was the public voice of these folks. Tells me a lot. EU doing its part. We need enough GOPers to do the right thing and override the Putin lackies -- there's not many of them. This could all end if just a small minority of GOP house members did the right thing, right now. I believe most of them very much want to do the right thing but think they'll be punished for it -- but that's why it's called courage. The other choice is called cowardice.
  14. Thanks for that. It's real grownup talk and really cuts to the point. I am not happy with this truth however, so I am going to play the new Downfall battles, before all this icky technology tookover.
  15. Some interesting tidbits here today. RU mayor wants more RU babies to be born. Interesting how many RU officials keep bringing up the birth rate -- are they planning on being at war forever? If it's for economic reasons maybe they shouldn't have chased ~1M of their best & brightest out of the country. And maybe investing in the people instead of corruption & war would make people feel hopeful and want to have families. Oh, and maybe the men should stop being drunks. https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2024/1/27/2219879/-More-Russian-stuff-blowing-up-Russian-men-urged-to-sneak-up-on-their-women-to-boost-birth-rate?pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=trending&pm_medium=web
  16. just got my download. Football winding down and look what walks in the door. Hellooooo Sugar!
  17. Totally and completely off topic. And funny. thx Maybe Putin's PR team will make videos of conquered towns like Bakhmut, of how they are saving civilization, come visit!
  18. Super cool, thanks for sharing. I would love to fight Ukraine war 2022. I would vote to make that product, but I also respect the opinion that it's rather unseemly. Of course, I am probably rather unseemly and that's what I think it's OK. edit: same guy has battle for kyiv scenario video also:
  19. Well, I guess it beats working at an actual job. Especially when you are f-ing insane and no one will hire you.
  20. In an age of uber-industrialized addiction, lack of affordable & indigent housing, lack of any real systems of drug treatment, lack of adequate mental health support, WTF do we expect? I see & hear lots of people s--ing on the homeless (not you, Bulletpoint), but this is not all just due to being lazy & immoral like many folks seem to think. This is a symptom of our society's unaddressed problems, not the underlying disease.
  21. When I see Photon & TheCapt discussing things I say to myself "hush, grownups are talking" Meanwhile, a few tidbits here today: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2024/1/18/2218018/-More-Russian-stuff-blowing-up-EU-s-Parliament-puts-the-screws-to-Hungary?pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=trending&pm_medium=web Explosion in Donetsk area, looks like ammo? Woman from Bashkorastan puts out video asking fighters from from the region to return home from UKR war to fight against the RU oppressors in their homeland. I'd love there to be lots more of this, though I suspect she will be in a jail cell, or worse, rather quickly. As TheCapt said earlier, arab spring started w one angry guy -- killed himself over govt corruption ruining his business, that's what I recall but not sure if correct.
  22. for sure. Killing russians matters but, while that is a tactical imperative, until it makes an operational/strategic difference it doesn't tell us that much. It could make an operational difference if there were some local mutiny by men not wanting to be slaughtered that gained momentum and led to UKR making some valuable gain. Strategically the only way I see it mattering is if it leads to some popular unrest where the guys w guns decide they are sick of their countrymen being sent to slaughter.
  23. Indeed, popular revolutions succeed when the soldiers & police decide to not shoot. That's one thing often overlooked. When the police also have no heat or are angry for whatever reasons or are just not wanting to kill people they identify with, things can rapidly change.
  24. Thanks all for your insightful posts on the infrastructure question I raised. The question was expanded to the bigger picture by Steve et al, where the bigger question of "what does this mean" is addressed. It does seem that a long hard winter with failing power & plumbing could push people into a "nothing to lose" kind of mindframe. Like was mentioned above, folks are fine with the war & regime while they are not really affected by it. But when they are freezing & have no running water and the regime has no answers.... well, that's a whole different kind of thing. Hopefully this will be a very long & hard winter with lots more infrastructure disasters in the big urban areas and folks will start to come out in the streets in droves. Like was mentioned, everything can seem fine & then blow up. A lot of folks will be angry that all the countries resources are tied up in a pointless war while their own quality of life is heading toward zero. As Steve said, a quick war with big wins is one thing. But a looooong war with big losses is another.
