  1. Very nice. Can you share? I'm back on grid for a while and wanted to share the compiled N. Africa work that had not been released. Would like to incorporate your inputs.
  2. aha ok I was wondering and playing around with string size so 'dutch-helmet' can't become 'us-helmet' or '...us-helmet' then.
  3. Having issues with hex editing the textured associated with the model. Can't get it to work, model turn up all black or transparent in game. Are there any tutorials on which HEX editors are best to use, how to format and how to edit?
  4. Found this and something about Python, but cant't get past the first stage.
  5. I'd read in another post that the goggles on helmets was from a beta version and not releases.. if so I also lament this loss. Also, why couldn't they model the USMC's LWH helmet right that looks identical to the older PASGT instead of just recycling the US Amy models ACH.
  6. Hi All, I've downloaded several CMSF uniform mods and have noticed that some of the mods somehow manage to change the names of the textues that the mod models use, How is this done? For example the following mod: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=863 uses the US Army model to represent marines with no goggles. The textures associated with these models have been edited somehow, so that they have different names. This means tha the army modes being used by marines do not clash or replace the US army models or their own textures for US army units. My question is good sirs, how is this done or which software packages are used to edit the 3D models to change the textures they are associated with?
  7. Anywhere we can still grab this? Been looking for a proper IOTV.
  8. Hmmm having a look. I'm aiming for contemporary Afghanistan and more Helmand specific. There's little things like people just don't wear a different coloured Shalwar and Kameez, and you really don't see gray beards amongst the fighters.
  9. Had a go at contemporary local non-state armed groups - Taliban / Hakkani / HIG / Arbakai / ALP etc... any interest?
  10. Does anyone have these wall textures anywhere?
  11. Actually pretty simple. Once you've selected the area just right click and use 'refine edges'. I smoothed them out a bit so the lines are never completely parallel.
  12. GMC CCKW - First attempt at 'dusting' - Each vehicle texture set usually has a plain an 'muddy' version, so I used muddy areas as a basis for dust starting point.
  13. Gents, I've been slowly working on textures for CMFI vehices that were present in the North Africa and Tunisia campaigns. This is in addition to other textures already out there for DAK and British vehicles. Here's a peek at the results so far: British Vehicles: Stuart III - (late two-tone Caunter Scheme light stone and slate) Start III Reccy (Light Stone - Blue/Black) Universal Carrier (Light Stone - Dark Green) QF 6lb Gun and Lloyd Carrier (No record of Lloyd's in Africa, Universal Carriers were modified to tow the 6lb gun, but at the universal cant in CMFI have used the Lloyd) QF 17lb Gun - First Used in the Tunisia Campaign (Not 100% accurate as the QF-17lb was rushed into service in North Africa on the 25lb Howitzer carriage) Sherman II (Desert Pink - Blue/Black) Sherman III (Light Stone - Dark Green with mixed border) Sherman 1 (mid production no record of use in North Africa but used to test a paint scheme seen on M3 Grants) Churchill Mk.III King Force style (light stone over Khaki Green No.3) Churchill Mk.I (Light Stone) Churchill Mk. IV (light stone over SCC 2) Jeep (desert Pink) German Vehicles: Marder II (Gelbbraun RAL 8000) Panzer IIIM (Gelbbraun RAL 8000) Panzer IIIN (Braun RAL 8020 with Grau RAL 7027) Panzer IV G (Braun RAL 8020) - Standing in for F2 'special' Panzer VI Tiger (Gelbbraun RAL 8000 with Graugrün RAL 7008) - 131: the last Tiger still in working order. US Vehicles: M5 M4 M4A1 Gun Motor Carriage Half tracks
  14. Maybe focus on the second battle of El Alemain and Tunisia campaign mid 42-43 as this would fit best with the units available in CMFI.
  15. It is what it is. PTO modding is already there so this isn't about the merits of its existence, just that CMFI would of made a far more suitable platform.
  16. Well it'd be no different to CMBN PTO modding already done by other people then.... which is workable
  17. Thanks that screenshot is great. I've been interested to play CMFI. I've also been tweaking some of the pacific mods for CMBN and making a few map... however it seems CMFI would be a far better platform for PTO modding due to: Availability of earlier US infantry TO&E Springfields as shown above for early USMC 37mm M3 Gun US tropical uniform already in game A range of French / Italian tanks similar in appearance to Japanese Italian Breda HMG similar to Japanese Type 92 With Gustav Line British can still be used to represent Japanese as in CMBN, or possibility to use Italians depending on their force structure. However I guess there's also the terrain types and textures to consider, e/g/ is there the XT Grass?
  18. Fizou have / can you test that? I don't own CMFI, just CMBN and CMRT.
  19. Excellent scenario battle. Yes us Brits are under represented, but so is Utah Beach and the 82nd in the face of Omaha and the Band of Brothers 101st... and Italy in the face of D-Day.. During a major anniversary of D-Day I was in the US and while watching US news coverage (the newscaster claimed D-Day was the first allied landing in Europe) someone asked me if "did the British help out at all in D-Day?" ... I had to leave the room fuming. Anyway, point in case... someone should do a Gold or Sword Beach, or all, Gold, Juno, Sword, Dieppe!
