  1. Thank you sir! I think I did file a ticket...but I am not sure, so I tried to send an email to the help desk email from my personal gmail account, and it did come back undeliverable(i know, what luck right?) Well i may or may not have got a ticket sent in, I will just wait a little bit and then try again. Plenty to play for now.
  2. Hey don't know if this is in the wrong place but probably is, anyone ever have problems with passwords in general? I was having a problem signing into battlefront.com today and I sent them an email to reset my password, or rather inserted my email into their website so it would send me a new password, and even tho I am pretty sure it was reset I never received the password email. So yea, just curious if anyone else is having or has had this issue. Maybe the new website is going up? Ehhh? Well anyways thanks for the help in advance.
  3. Got it. In fact I have been re-watching all the armchair generals now, taking it all in again, considering taking notes and using a notepad when I play to keep track of key terrain and approaches and just have a way to remind myself to go through the key principles when I play. That last site from Bud Backer is nice too, should be helpful. And Heirloom, yes I have seen Bil Hardernbergers blog too and that has been very helpful as well, and I have gone thru a couple of his AAR's as well. Very complicated but engrossing.
  4. I believe now they come with the upgrade automatically for brand new owners...because that was a draw back for me originally before I saw they came with the game right away free of charge. So yea, I don't even know what its like to play on the older engines except for the demos that I tried, CMFI and CMBN.
  5. As a new player to the entire series, not having played any previous titles and coming from the same old RTS games you mentioned, this game is a breath of fresh air. I love CMBN, blows everything else right outta the water. I was a bit taken back by the price when I first started looking into these games, but now that I have seen what a community they have here, and what a really niche market the general RTS market is, the price kinda fits the product. Its a niche product in a niche market, what are the chances of that lol! I probably should have bought the package but I was chomping at the bit to get into the action, so now I have CMBN and CW, and even tho I spent a little more than I should have because I plan on buying MG too...I don't feel that bad about the price because it looks like it is going to a good company that specializes in a very specific kind of game that really isn't any where else on the market in this level of attention to detail. There is only one other game I know of that even comes close to this level of realism/simulation and that is the Achtung panzer series, but it just doesn't seem as in depth and as user friendly and to be honest, not as interesting, because it is only the eastern front, where as with the CM series you get a lot more theaters of war, including the eastern front. And the gameplay is better, and I have to say after installing a few mods, which was really really easy, I think this even looks better...except I am still getting used to the whole edge of the map thing. But when you are ground level at least the horizons look cool that way, not breaking the "immersion" until you go get a birds eye view which really breaks immersion by itself. But yea, no buyers remorse here lol, in fact I would urge you to get the package deal because you will probably kick yourself when you want the modules!
  6. Hello all, New to the games, and more importantly new to the forum. So hello hello, nice to make all of your acquaintances. Now on to the gushing praise I have for this wonderful hidden little gem of a beauty(see how many adjectives I have for CM!). Where do I begin, the whole series, from what I have seen and not played so far, only dipping into CMBN for now, but gosh golly gee willickers, boy is it great. Now on to some general ideas, thoughts, questions for all you seasoned vets. One idea I had very early was what if all/most/some riflemen could actually drop their packs to gain a little mobility. I am sure you have all heard it before, but the way they run slower through certain terrain is a bit funky at first, but I totally get the use of that feature to simulate the speed at which they can run/walk/jog/crawl across different types. What if a few more simple real life-ish features such as this one could be added? Like for example, a way to order soldiers to commandeer weapons, scavenge for ammo...kinda like the way you can order engineers to mark mines. Maybe it could only be initiated by the platoons HQ or something, you know because the chain of command would usually be the ones keeping everyone together and prepped for the next engagement while moving forward. Now these are not just ideas, but more like questions...because I am sure that I am yet to figure out all the little hidden things about this game that aren't really spelled out in the manual. I am only just now working my way up to some bigger battles to see if my pc can even handle it yet alone my own brain. Played a few of the small and tiny battles, and I am now trying my hand at the apparently infamous Courage and Fortitude, and found out I apparently have NEITHER when it comes to loosing my men. Probably wouldn't have made a very good commander! But I am trying and learning and just taking it all in nice and slow. Any thoughts? Ideas that you may have? Strategies for learning this incredibly deep game? Thanks and glad to be here!
