  1. Hi all, i am currently going through the process of installing my CM titles on a new computer. I installed and activated Red Thunder, and all is ok. However when i came to Fire and Rubble, i installed the update, but i have no activation key on my orders page, just a link for the upgrade file. When i go in game all the Fire and Rubble missions and campaigns are 'greyed out'. How do i activate it please? Is there supposed to be a key? regards slipper
  2. Yes thanks Erwin, I was aware of that thanks. it was the hierarchy of subfolders I was unsure of.
  3. Thanks 37mm, glad you understood what I was getting at, didn't fancy trying to explain it again!! Cheers mate
  4. Hi all Just a quick question on mod folder structure. Does the game read sub-folders of a folder before other folders in the data/Z folder? in the example below, say i had folders X and Y containing mods as shown Data/Z/zzfolderX/subfolderY and Data/Z/zfolderY as i understand it zzfolderX would be read after zfolderY, but would subfolderY then be read after zfolderY bit confusing i know, but hope someone can explain. cheers
  5. Ok thanks Benpark, I know what you mean about time mate . Thanks again
  6. Nice Benpark, will give them a try. Anything similar for other modules that you know of please?
  7. Thanks both. I have checked out Bills post, and it is very good with great tactical advice, but it's not really nation specific. I'm looking for something more historical for the different forces within the CM WW2 game timeline
  8. Hi all Can anyone recommend some good books, websites that cover infantry and/or armour tactics used in the second world war please. My knowledge on Eastern front tactics is not very good, but could do with reccomendations on all nations really. Have read some osprey titles but find them a bit hit or miss Thanks
  9. Yes I too would order Barbarossa, France 1940 straight away
  10. Yes saw that also Aragon. Have you looked at some of the editions heimdal books also? There is one called 'three days in hell' which has been published in French and English, I have not read it, but it covers the battle at Buron. I have a few of their Normandy series on Rauray and Op Martlet and they are very good. They are in French though which I can't read , so I use google translate . Also Pen and Sword seem to be publishing some of the French editions Heimdal into English, I think they have done battle for St Lo, Carentan, and battles of the Odon so far.
  11. I see Tim Saunders has a new book out about the 12th SS Hitlerjugend in normandy, not read it yet though.
  12. I was not aware of how to add flavour objects either i must admit. One question if i add flavour objects to a scenario and uploaded it, would the new flavour objects be available to everyone who downloaded it? My first thought is probably not, but thought i would ask cheers
  13. Over the battlefield' series by Ian Dalglish. Three books covering Epsom, Bluecoat and Goodwood, are really good as are the battleground Europe series
  14. Does anyone have the Commonwealth helmets foliage mod referred to a few posts back please? I cant seem to find one anywhere. cheers
  15. Hi all again Somebody kindly sent me a message saying they would forward me a copy of the map and to contact them by email, you did not include your email address though, could you resend please? Thanks
  16. Thanks Benpark Its a shame the editor is restricted to roughly 4km x 4 km though, it would be handy if the facility was still there to make larger maps that could be cut down for campaigns and the like, rather than trying to replicate part of a previous map onto a new one if the areas overlap in the campaign. I don't suppose there is anyway to join two maps together? That way you could use the border between two 4 x 4 maps. Maybe in a future update the facility for larger maps could be reinstated? Thanks again slippy
  17. Thanks Pete, will do, very kind of you. take care slippy
  18. Thanks HerrTom Any idea where i may find the smoke for the tanks please? One of my least dislike graphical elements of the game are the long black 'fingers' of smoke from damaged vehicles and tanks, like below would like to try and get something more natural looking such as this do you think in theory it is possible within the limitations of the game? regards slippy
  19. Thanks Pete, sorry i must have missed Steve's comments That's fine mate if its 4.254 x 2.254 now, just thought i was missing a trick somewhere 90.6 square kilometers is indeed an impressive area, and 2 million mouse clicks even more so . I understand the limitations of large maps, but thought it may have been easier to make one big master map to cut down rather than several small ones. thanks for your reply, and get clicking!! regards slippy
  20. I should have been clearer. I can't seem to make a map bigger than approx 4 x 4 km in the editor, the x and y coordinates max out at these values. How are people making bigger maps than that? From the manual. 'maps can have a maximum total surface area of 18 kilometers squared (4248m x 4248m if shaped as a perfect square). No side can be longer than 8,000 meters.' So how have 6 X 5 maps been created?
  21. HerrTom, they do look excellent to be fair. Out of interest, in your opinion could vehicle fires/ smokes also be modded?
  22. Hi all. I thought the max size in the editor was 4 x 4 km? How are some people making maps bigger than this, 6 X 5 for example? Cheers
  23. Is this master map still available anywhere please? Looked over at scenario depot and couldn't see it there. Thanks
