CMSF1 scenarios & campaigns
Col Rosenberger replied to 37mm's topic in CM Shock Force 2 Maps and Mods
Yes, this is it. Thanks. sburke is not the one getting old, I couldn't work out there were two scenario names that looked exactly the same but were different. Thanks for putting up with my confusion. -
CMSF1 scenarios & campaigns
Col Rosenberger replied to 37mm's topic in CM Shock Force 2 Maps and Mods
But maybe the "duh" reply is then: (1) re-download the demo (2) install in parallel to the full CMSF2 (3) grab the Wilcox .btt file and move it into purchased CMSF2 Would installing the CMSF2 demo along with the paid CMSF2 break any settings? -
The Passage At Wilcox scenario
Col Rosenberger replied to Erwin's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
Hey Erwin & George MC - I'm wondering if I should be seeing "The Passage At Wilcox" as part of my CMSF2 purchase? @37mm has a dropbox archive of CMSF scenarios that includes something that looks like "The Passage At Wilcox" I played in the demo - but it's not the same and isn't updated? It's called "Tactical Vignette 99-2 The Passage at Wilcox SF2.btt" I am going blind or is there somewhere I can get the btt file that was part of the October 2018 demo release? Or is that as simple as re-downloading the demo and getting the btt file out of the demo folders? Thanks for all the work folks like you do to add great value to CM games. -

I spent a lot of time playing something called "CMSF2 demo" that @Battlefront.com announced on October 17th, 2018. It had the excellent "Passage to Wilcox" battle. It appears that it was / is not the same as "Tactical Vignette 99-2 The Passage at Wilcox" that is in the collection highlighted in this thread? -

Outstanding 37mm & IanL. Thanks, Ian - that's heaps of effort to put together. Curious as to what is meant by "The Blitz Size Modifier"? Also - I have been wondering what happened to "The Passage to Wilcox" battle that was in the SF2 demo? It never showed up in my SF2 purchase? I see there is something very similar in this collection - but still wondering what happened to the SF2 demo version? http://www.combatmission.lesliesoftware.com/ShockForce/Scenarios/Tactical Vignette 99-2 The Passage at Wilcox SF2.html This is clearly a starting point for the SF2 demo but has map with more extreme ground slopes and appears to lack the key intersection that had the IED? -

Aloha 37mm this is an amazing collection that makes SF2 great value for me. Thank you. More CMSF customers could be made aware of it! As a side note are there any tools / tips for making it easier to catalog / view scenarios and maps both inside and outside of the CM applications? Most of the time I play QB's or scenarios I really just want to see a map overview but it becomes guesswork and memory games. -
Mech Airborne and BMP-3 missing
Col Rosenberger replied to Sir Lancelot's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
Aloha, Is there any known fix yet for missing units and vehicles in QB, including Syrian Mech Airborne & specifically BMP-3's? Thanks -

Missing BMP-3's (or just bad eyesight?)
Col Rosenberger replied to Col Rosenberger's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
Thanks for posting those threads, @Combatintman I tried a search for keywords (about 5 or 6 times) and all I got was a 504 error. -
CMSF2 Release Update
Col Rosenberger replied to Battlefront.com's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
/// CRAZY SMOKE!? /// Been playing Al Huqf and twice now it seems that the BMP's throw some wild and crazy smoke? Twice in two different battles when my Bradley gets a bead on a BMP and lights it up I end up with black smoke half-way across the map? Is this me? Is this Saddam's Space Cannon being rolled outa mothballs? And what / why is the white-grey smoke all over the back of the map? -
What's New For CMSF2 QB Games

Sadly QB don't work for me. Well they worked once - now they always crash CMSF2? Ticket submitted into the Ticket Cyclone -

CMSF2 Demos Released!

Thank you Steve. I always loved the menu and load-screen music on this title. Outstanding. Sadly I have to go to work before I can get into turn 1. -
They meant september of next year!
Col Rosenberger replied to tavichh's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
Aloha troops, I understand the frustration on delays and also the arguments regarding customer service and business practice. But for what it is worth here is how I try to look at it. BF games are niche. BF games are boutique. BF games are possibly the boutique-iest niche-iest boutique niche in the market. But they are my market niche, our market niche, and we need to recognise how unique and invaluable this product legacy is. BF are clearly a very small group of dedicated people who develop - and keep alive - a legacy of simulated combat realism that we love. I feel lucky this still exists in the current retail environment. I'd suggest it is only through the personal passion and effort of a small number of people that we still have these lovely toys. So when I get frustrated about delays and perceptions on customer service I recognise that if pure market forces and cold business decisions were at work we'd likely not have anything like the BF games we do have. Personally, I like to support the BF crew for this reason alone. Indeed I wonder how else I can help these folks so we have these much loved toys going forward? So there is one way you might think about it. And if you agree there is some merit in this possibly overly soppy rant maybe not only stump up your $ to keep the devs alive but also tone back the criticism if only to be a bit nicer to those slaving away on our precious toys? Now. Where is that CMSF2 Demo refresh button?!? .o7 NB: for the record I don't know the devs at all -

Aloha fellow Grogs,
An FYI: In case you don't relate to the Col Rosenberger (Squad Leader - 1977) reference let me be very clear that I am not trying to falsely claim any time or experience in military service. However if I ever was in real life I would hope not to be a "6+1" leader - even if that is possibly my CM game command effectiveness. Thanks to all who have served in real life.

Thanks Ian. I'm sure your suggestion to download the full CMBS v2.0 (E4) off my "big bundle" is the best way - but this worked too for others reference. Success OS: Mac OS 10.13.6 Steps: Install CMBS v1.00 (Engine 3) and activate Upgrade to CMBS v1.04 (E3) via patch Upgrade to CMBS v2.0 (E4) via "big bundle purchase" smaller download upgrade patch Activated new product - NB: honestly still slightly confused which serial number worked here but I tried a few times with both the E3 and E4 upgrade serials and eventually it worked. Send rounds downrange Outstanding!

Thanks for the assistance. It's mainly the new website causing my brain issues - but I do think there are possibly a few links that need to be fixed for CMBS patches? My main issue was just looking at the CMBS base game product page. My splash says v1.03 - as expected. I didn't see any E4 upgrade path on the CMBS product page - but [facepalm] I now see there is a whole page dedicated to upgrades. Thanks Ian. The patches linked on the CMBS base game page [ https://www.battlefront.com/black-sea/cmbs-base-game/?tab=patches ] do seem to be fubar (?) but I note that there is also a dedicated patches page [ https://www.battlefront.com/patches ] that has a download link that reaches all the correct patch versions. I also now note that I purchased the "upgrade big bundle" some time ago for some of my WW2 titles and that purchase may also update BS? Thanks for the outstanding community support. And please keep the AAR's coming Ian - we appreciate the effort it takes and it's such instructive and entertaining content for the grogs.

G'day, I'm attempting to install CMBS fresh and having some issues. Hopefully they are just because I'm doing something stupid. Are CMBS patch links broken / misdirected on the website? My account download from my original purchase seems to be Engine 3. I get this file from the download link > CMBS v103 Full Installer.pkg.zip. As expected this installs CMBS v1.03 However when I try to download the v1.04 patch from the website patch link I get only the v1.01 patch? CM2_Mac_Black_Sea_v101_Patch.zip How does one patch to / upgrade to Engine 4 - version 2.0? I don't see options to purchase an upgrade to Engine 4 for CMBS? Is it a patch? Am I blind? The Engine 4 patch to v2.10 says it requires v2.0 installed? Thanks in advance

Can we "bail" crew-served TOW's in SF2?
Col Rosenberger replied to Col Rosenberger's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
Thanks for that MikeyD - I appreciate the effort. That has been my experience in the past with dismounted TOW teams in CMBS and CMSF1. I get how heavy/large the weapon system is that's why I was hoping my poor pixel-troopers could "bail out" and run away when they had T-90's bearing down on them and no missile ammo left. It was like they were chained to the kill zone with safe out-of-LOS terrain only a quick dash away.
