  1. Finland doubles it's Leo2 mine plow vehicle commitment to 6 in total. Also confirmed in the official DoD announcements(13th and 14th packages): https://www.defmin.fi/en/topical/press_releases_and_news/finlands_latest_defence_materiel_package_to_ukraine_includes_three_leopard_2_mine_clearing_tanks.13423.news https://www.defmin.fi/en/topical/press_releases_and_news/finland_donates_defence_materiel_assistance_to_ukraine_including_more_of_mine-clearing_leopard_2_tanks.13477.news#9ab3a2b5
  2. Benefit of mafia state. Everyone is a criminal that can be put to justice if so willed by the bigger boss. I am sure the corruption has nothing to do with the real reasons for this move.
  3. Good that the west didn't give the Leopard 1 last year. As opposed to the previous year, they will outmatch RUS tanks to a significantly greater degree this year. haha
  4. I wonder how far and high they have to drop from to hit a target on the frontlines
  5. What is the status of the Swedish CV9040 donations? Do we have a timetable for it and who and where is going to be conducting the training? Is it going to be like the US Bradley training done in battalion size?
  6. https://www.spiegel.de/wirtschaft/unternehmen/fuer-panther-produktion-rheinmetall-will-panzer-fabrik-in-der-ukraine-aufbauen-a-8c1a27cf-9be8-42ad-ba51-d0b526c05719 Rheinmetall is working on additional 50 L2A4 tanks for ukraine with 30 ready. In addition these will be a new modernized version. Idea being "A4 from the outside but A7 from the inside".
  7. and coming: M113 and Leopard 1 will be one of Ukraine's main mech equipment types by the year's end and the following year's.
  8. most interesting ones: Hits On Ukrainian Vehicles And Equipment (101) Misses On Ukrainian Vehicles And Equipment (37)
  9. Battlefront is going to have to dumb down their AI for the Russian side. Currently, it is going to be unrealistic
  10. Share the relevant saved file. I suspect the Javelin gunner doesn't have a line of site.
  11. https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/04/answering-call-heavy-weaponry-supplied.html Those two planned Leopard 2 battalions are now complete with the added Swedish L2A5s and additional german ones. btw never ever did I think this total tank number would rise to >760
  12. Really starting to notice that anything that shows UKR in bad light or losing is downvoted to oblivion on the most popular sites. Even if the footage is just from a Russian POV it gets downvoted. /r/UkraineRussiaReport/ is a pretty good counter to this. https://old.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/
  13. Just found this footage from Kherson offensive: https://old.reddit.com/r/UkraineRussiaReport/comments/10muegb/ru_pov_a_single_russian_t72b3_with_artillery/ "The tank crew of a Russian T-72B3 from the 124th Independent Tank Battalion part of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division engages two Ukrainian motorized companies supported with a platoon of T-72M tanks moving in parallel with one another. This took place near the village of Kostromka. Interesting to note that one of the Ukrainian crews of a YPR-765, out of panic and disorganization, begin shooting at their friendly column of BMPs moving in parallel with them. The footage shows the Russian tank taking out 3 YPR-765 vehicles, 2 BMPs as well as a direct hit on a T-72M. Another 3 Ukrainian vehicles were destroyed in this engagement after the video ends. Afterwards, the Russian tank drove off to safety, leaving the battlefield."
  14. on the Leopard 2 coalition from Finland: https://www.iltalehti.fi/politiikka/a/ef57d451-937c-4ddf-a5cc-c52e57e6a7b5 "Defense Minister Mikko Savola stated on Wednesday at the NATO headquarters in Brussels that the German-led Leopard coalition is not on the verge of disintegration - At least it wasn't on the verge of disintegration, here too we have gathered and talked, yes there is a cooperation model here, Savola said at the press conference held after the NATO Defense Ministers meeting. Welt says that only Poland responded to the number of tanks sent by Germany, although Poland has supplied Ukraine with older tank models. According to Welt, the Dutch and Danish governments have announced that neither country intends to deliver Leopards to Ukraine According to Savola, the news that Denmark and the Netherlands refuse to deliver Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine is false. - Yes, it is false news, unless the matter has changed in the last 10 minutes, Savola said. According to the Finnish Minister of Defense, all countries of the coalition are still involved in the project. - Everyone is involved, who have been until now. According to Welt's information, Finland is also not going to deliver a single Leopard before the NATO application is approved. - Yes, we are involved, but I am not saying how many (tanks) we are involved with, Savola told Iltalehte on Tuesday."
  15. I have been watching this same thing. In the past RUS rarely lost these "back-end equipment" in their own attacks. These types of losses came mostly from when UKR itself advanced. RUS attrition warfare will not be vary long-lasting if they keep loosing these assets at this rate. Might be a combination of explanations: RUS didn't do as much combined arms attacks before so this equipment was missing, UKR rear precision strike capability is developing (the whole killchain), UKR has changed their targeting
  16. I must say, well played Germany. Putting the Leopard screamers on the burner with a battalion of L2A6. Not saying this is good for Ukraine, bad leadership from Germany. Playing hardball and not even getting results... I am sure there could have been way more L2A4s, especially with a looser timetable.
  17. https://kyivindependent.com/news-feed/german-defense-minister-says-ukraine-to-receive-fewer-leopard-tanks-than-promised Seems the Leo2A6 battalion part failed. Leo2A4 battalion succeeded but that is only coming in April
  18. Finland doesn't disclose the content of its aid, I am quite sure Finland is participating in limited numbers at the moment. Additional numbers seem to be dependent on the ratification of Finnish NATO membership. This has been quite clearly but somewhat indirectly stated by officials and the president. The line is because of Finland's location and non-NATO membership military support is constrained. The fact that the big south, west, and central European nations are not giving away any significant percentages of their fleets or even offering to compensate tanks given by others is seen as distasteful. Russia's neighbors and so the ones that are most at threat are leading in donations, this is not seen as desirable in Finland. The load sharing should be reversed from our point of view. If I would make the decisions half of the Finnish Leo fleet(all the 2A6 variants) and the BMP-2s would be already heading to UKR.
  19. on the matter of German protests on the Leopard 2 donations and leopard in general: source: https://twitter.com/CorporalFrisk/status/1625795975787823105
  20. RUS artillery losses are steadily increasing and ramping up. In the past RUS artillery losses have correlated with ongoing UKR offensives and captured terrain. That is not the case this time. Do we see increasing efficiency of counter-battery operations now in effect?
  21. German qualification of operational doesn't include ones with broken headlights if I recall right
  22. "Boris Pistorius said progress made by other countries in sending German-made Leopard tanks had “not been exactly breathtaking, to put it mildly”. Berlin also announced last month that it would let allies re-export German-made tanks to Ukraine, and said it wanted to team up with its allies to create two tank battalions of Leopard 2s, equating to about 90 tanks. But so far, apart from Germany only Poland has given the green light for substantial deliveries. Late last month, Canada announced it would send four Leopard 2 tanks and Norway said on Tuesday it was also providing eight. Pistorius said Portugal had agreed to send three Leopard 2A6s — a commitment he described as an “appropriate contribution” for a relatively small country. But there were currently “no talks underway” on sending more A6s, he added. He also said Poland would supply Leopard 2A4s but expressed doubt about their “condition and whether they are operational”. He said Canada had already delivered tanks to Poland together with their instructors and Warsaw was waiting for the tanks from Norway. He added that Poland was also in “advanced talks” with Spain. Nato officials told the Financial Times that Berlin was waiting for a coalition of Leopard 2 donors to be formed before sending its own contingent, adding that the plan was to send the two battalions in one delivery." EDIT: But I think Germany is bitching. They send about 3% of their fleet. If everyone does that we get nowhere. Portugal 10% and Norway 25-40% is the way to go. Poland is also 4% but they have already sent hundreds of T-72s and more are on the way so Poland doesn't count here.
  23. Norway checks out in its support. If everyone would do as they... Only 12 but depending on counting it is 25-40% of their total fleet
  24. Dmitri Alperovitch talks to David Bramlette, a former U.S. Ranger and Green Beret combat veteran, who has recently returned from fighting with the Ukrainian Foreign Legion in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Luhansk oblasts for 10 months. David shares his experiences of the war, why he went over to risk his life for a foreign country, his impressions of the Russian and Ukrainian forces, and what happens when Americans get wounded in Ukraine.
