    Note that particular ordnance is not really tied to a particular sound file.  Many explosions will randomly sample several of the explosion files, so there is not really a way to give a particular explosion type (e.g. 105mm artillery) a fixed sound / set of sounds.

    Some last previews of the modular buildings mod.
     
    I have found a solution for the flat roofs, which will be included in the mod (BFC decided to use only 1 flat roof type for the 8 buildings this time, for performance reasons).
    The other roofs will come separately.
     
    The only missing parts to finish the mod are the details (around Windows and doors), should be done today or Tomorrow.

    It's a hobby, but after some time spent modding CMSF and CMRT, after having learnt how to use the different instruments of a specific painting program, after collecting a lot of textures in a database, and after knowing quite well how the textures behave in game and what effectively is in the game, I must say that the modding process can be very fast; take the modular buildings, for example, I now use a simple method: find a good picture imaging a roughtly size of a 3-storey structure in game, medium size (smallr size will shrink the texture a bit, large size will stretch it); then mentally divide it in 3 parts and see if it can fit. If it does then I cut the part I need, resize it in a 2048x1536 image, or "master building texture" (which is exactly the size of the in game modular building, 3 storey high). Then I paste the image in a raw 2048x512 picture, make three of those (bottom/middle/top), and you got the most of the building done. Quick test in game (using a pre-made dedicated small map with buildings inside), check what it looks like near a soldier, check if it fits the other buildings, apply corrections to colors/definition/brightness etc., then add some weathering using decals. Then finish the details (such as balcony), find some matching door/window/longwindow from a pre-made database, finally make the normal maps using a free quick tool; one last in game check. The building is done. Could really make a lot of them, but if you need to make 30 clicks to find what you need it's not going to be pleasant to detail a scenario's map. That's why I will mod the 8 vanilla buildings and at max add 8 more new types, 15 clicks to browse the avilable buildings is more acceptable.

    I have something in mind but need the right time to do it. I may actually be able to get some other "actors" involved this time. And if I do get then I'll probably be able to update CMBN's mod as well. But like I said, it's the timing, I live in an apartment attached to my uncle's house so I need to wait until he takes off (which should be fairly soon), I doubt he'd understand all the screaming coming through the walls.

    in a few days will be;) I have everything ready (voice for Americans and Russians - about 700 tones), but for now downloading a game with stunning speed, too 60kb / s (about 12 hours)
     
    ps. will also be all the rest (motors, environment, guns, explosions etc - some 1,200 tones - 700mb)   - I have sounds for Polish infantry (I hope that in the next module)

    1/ Get a good LOS by unbuttoning the tank
    2/ Engage the JS2 at longer range and slightly offset your tank axis by something like 20 to the most 30 Degrees to favorize shell deflection. In another term, don't Keep your tank straight to the enemy gun.
    3/ If You can take a hull down position the better it is.
    4/ Fire at the JS2 while stationary and never on its front facing (unless in a dire situation or at short range).Try to engage it on its flank with a fire angle greater than 30 Degrees, the better will be the closer to 90 degrees).
    5/ Since the JS2 has a low rate of fire engage it at longer range (more than 500 to 800 meters). The closer it comes the more deadly it Will be for the enemy but also for you And your long range fire advantage will dwindle to None.
    6/ Try to engage the JS2 with two tanks to uptimize your chance.
    7/ If You find a good flank ambush site and have two tanks, you can from a short range up to 300 meters create havoc in a JS2 platoon. They will rotate slowly their turret, will not respond to your fire quickly being buttoned having difficulties with their LOS (unless you are in plain view)
    8/ If things turn wrong, hit the smoke dischargers button and reverse out of the way of the coming beast.

    Usually when I have Panther Tanks I'm a "happy camper", the best tank in WW II, so how to use it ?
    Always open up for your TC, very important, unless their are enemy infantry close to your tanks.
    Use infantry scout teams with binoculars to look for enemy tanks, once located, use mortars to button his
    TC's if you don't have the time to call in mortars/artillery use machineguns and/or sniperteams.
    Get in good positions try and get in on his flank, sometimes use armor arc to focus on a special area.
    Use houses and trees to cover your flanks and get in hull down positions as offen as possible.

    The trees in the modded screenshot are a fresh mod I am working on for CMBS. I mainly changed some color values and, generally, desaturated the colors (I have a personal taste preference over desaturated colors). Moreover, the distant trees (which by the way use a similar system of the ground Tiles to represent very distant tress) have been changed in order to limit the bloody transition effect.
     
    I did a much less advanced and complete mod for the trees in CMRT some months ago, you should find it under the name of "desaturated trees" or something like that in CMMODS site, should take care of the saturation problem at least.

    Many, who like to watch these kind of movies, war movies, often are interested in war history etc. Maybe that´s why some of us dont like these kind of movies, especially when the main character is ww2 tank. We know somewhat what kind of capabilities it has and also know a little how well SS was experienced and equipped. I enjoy action movies a lot, but when it comes to war movies, I expect some kind of realism when the subject is "what has happened" -genre. Just my opinion, nothing more. If there would have been bear-mounted siberian elite partisans in the fury, the movie would have been quite good.

    dude you like that movie? That movie suuuuucked, it was stupid from the second to first scene to the last scene. And the ending was total bs, maybe if all the ss were high on LSD they would of had a better chance than what they did in the movie. Why did they just flat out WALK to the tank? And not send one guy to check it out? And why did the tank commander let the ss surround him? Total bs. I would of shot them when they were walking a single file line towards the tank. THAT was the time to shoot. Not after they completely surrounded you, and somehow no one just kept on top of the tank and put a grenade it it. That movie was complete bs.
