  1. Hey thanks for answering Mord. I was kinda hoping it would be you. :-)) OK, maybe I'm not thinking correctly. I am currently using and wanting to continue to use the Big Red One patch. If I changed the ranger patch to portrait usa infantry would't that replace the patch for the 1st patch? I guess it would so I think I understand why it wasn't working. Tell me if I'm wrong though please. Thanks again. Great mod by the way I just wish we had different stock for all branches like rangers, engineers, recon, etc. :-((
  2. First off I'd like to that this mod is fantastic. It really adds to my game play. Sometimes it's the small stuff, although I'm sure it was a bear doing it, that really spices up the enjoyment of playing for me. Kinda like the shoulder and helmet patches. Anyway, what I am trying to find out is how to get the Rangers portrait with the small patches to work. Actually at this point any Ranger portrait to work. I've tried all 4 of them and while I had no problem getting the infantry, armor and Airborne ones to work I can't seem to get the Rangers to cooperate. There are 4 of them to chose from and none work. I was wondering if they are labeled right or something? The bmp names are ; Portrait usa infantry_Rangers.bmp, portrait usa infantry_Rgr Bat 1st.bmp, portrait usa infantry_Rgr Bat 4 th.bmp and , portrait usa infantry_Rgr Bat 3rd.bmp I am playing CMFI only so don't have the GL but don't think that's the problem or perhaps it is. Anybody know happen to know?
  3. WOW! Those are great looking mods Woki. I mean truly outstanding!!!
  4. LOL yeah I kinda do that " just a couple more mods " thing myself. Got to admit it's a hoot seeing all those new uniforms or vehicles, etc. It's like I can't rest or play a game until everything is just right or which is probably more like it, a kid in a candy store :-))
  5. Thanks Mord and a special thanks Kohlenklau for allowing me to talk to you by phone. That greatly helped and I was able to get all my troopers in the same extra color uniform and exact helmet!!!!! That is so cool being able to do that. Only problem is it's more fun messing around with the mods than playing the game. :-)) Thanks so much again. I really really appreciate it.
  6. Thanks Fizou. I kinda assumed this when nobody replied but always nice to have somebody say it. :-))
  7. No, no, no. I like variety too. I'm just playing around trying to learn and thought I'd make every soldier have the same uniform color and all with the shoulder and helmet patch but couldn't so thought I ask the question hoping to get a discussion going in an effort to learn what I'm doing wrong and how to do what I am trying to do. I thought by deleting all the files except for the one color uniform I wanted and the one division patched helmet wanted I would do this but I'm still getting different uniform colors with some soldiers with patches and some not. I don't see how this is possible and is the reason for this question. Mord, you said " and rename them until you have enough to overwrite the stock bmps." Not sure what you mean " until you have enough to overwrite the stock bmps. I assume I only need one helmet and one uniform file to overwrite the stock bmps. No?
  8. I couldn't help notice all the different uniform color combinations in a given file. Why so many. Wouldn't just one color be sufficient?
  9. So this silence means there are no mods for that particular vehicle. Good to know cause I've gone over and over the two sites and nope not one. I may just have to do one myself I guess and I will as soon as I learn to fly a plane. :-))
  10. I am in the process of modding my CMFI ( I don't have the GL module ) game up and cannot find any mods of the PSW 221. Are there really none out there or am I missing someplace where I can find them. I currently know of the repository and cmmods.com sites but I assume those are the only two areas available. Thanks.
  11. I don't know how deep I'll get but for sure I'd like to be able to use the available mods out there to change up the appearances of the game from time to time. To me it makes such a huge difference seeing different uniforms, terrain and vehicles, etc. Almost like a new game. Pretty exciting. I can't say enough good things about battlefront but the modders out there deserve a very big thanks also for they add a huge element to the game. Long live the modders! :-))
  12. Ok Kohlenklau after that example or analogy it might be better to wait until we talk. I thought I'd get a running start before but kinda sounds like a live discussion would be best.
  13. Is there some place that has a list of these numbers? I am wanting to make some changes to some of my mods and would need to know what the particular names are.
  14. Yeah ok 15 minutes. Want to bet a little money on that. LOL No really I am very excited to see if an old dog can learn. :-))
  15. Thanks gents for the help. I'll try to take a look at your suggestions but counting on Kohlenklan to do the work for me as this stuff is so far over my head it's not funny. Example I have no idea about default opening programs nor anything about rezexplode files so yeah pretty pitiful I know. I do appreciate the help. Just wish I was more knowledgeable so I could keep up my end but thanks never the less.
  16. Hi Umlaut. Thanks for the reply. I have deleted all of the files I had trouble with but here's one that I still had so it may help. It's " Ranger patch for base game scenarios " by sfhand date Mat 30, 2013. Hopefully this will help you. I hope so cause it's very puzzling. Thanks for the help.
  17. I am currently modding my new FI game and have been able to install " CRDownload " files but I am running across many mods that are " Adobe Reader " files and they won't work and I can't open them so wondering what the situation is about them. Any info would be helpful as at this point I just flat can't use those mods and there are really some great ones available. FYI- I tired installing them in my mod folder and Z folder but won't work in either. All my mods that work which are the CRdownload ones are in my Z folder. I only have the CMFI game in case that makes a diff but wouldn't think so. Thanks
  18. Not a problem Mos. Thanks a least for replying. :-))
  19. I would also recommend CMFI. I have both and enjoy FI more. CMBN to me has just too much trees and bocages. For some reason I just don't care for all that foliage! It gets into my way and can't see anything. And if you toggle it off then it messes with your LOS. A great game overall but I like FI more. IMHO
  20. Thanks Kohlenklau. That makes life so much easier. :-))
  21. Thanks so much Myles. That is extremely helpful info. I really appreciate it! Now I won't waste time having to try each and every mod to find out if they work. Excellent!!!
  22. I would highly recommend USA helmets by Egger and Bil's improved branch insignia and improved rank icons and then the one that I really really enjoy is the translucent brush and tree by Rocket Man. Not much in the way of uniforms I'm afraid. I guess the modders haven't gotten around to FI yet. As far as will the BN uniform mods work for FI well that's up in the air from the responses I received but the one's I tired did not work. Good luck and there are some really good tank mods though!
  23. On the information about a particular mod it states a " file Version " like 1.0. Does that mean it's only good for that version of the game like v1.0 or can that mod be used for higher upgrades to the game like v1.12 or for that matter v3.0? I don't really have a good understanding about mods so kinda confusing if you don't know what things mean. Thanks Oh and while I'm asking questions let me ask another one. Can all uniform mods be used for quick battles or are they meant to be only used in campaigns and or scenario's?
