Here's a good example of the kind of disgusting person Erwin is.

This took far longer than I would have liked to finish up, but I think it should be an entertaining read. Was certainly entertaining to play after the first 15 turns or so, at least - read it here: https://rinaldiaars.blogspot.com/2021/07/cmbn-aar-cut-off-at-kovering-what-if.html

Part II - following on from the above.
Once the enemy security outpost was eliminated the platoons swapped out and a fresh platoon carried forward the attack, whilst the lead platoon, tended to their wounded, re-orged and rearmed and took up position as the reserve.
By this stage some armour support in the shape of three Panthers had joined the attacking force. They all rolled forward.

The enemy supporting positions that had revealed their location attempting to support their security outpost were taken under fire from the supporting 105mm 'Wespe' battery.
Whilst the defenders were pinned down the assaulting SPW platoon drove onto the enemy position.
Under covering MG fire from their SPW the grenadiers assaulted forward to clear the foxholes.

it was not all straightforward. Some defenders rather than cowering in the bottom of their foxhole actively and effectively engaged the attacking grenadiers.

Yes because once a squad leader loses contact with the platoon leader, he will tell his guys: listen up, we lost contact with hq, so we will just sit here and do nothing cause I am ain't a leader who can figure out something in the absence of direct orders.
    How realistic.

A Canadian 17 Pounder Sherman (Firefly) of the 21st Armoured Regt. (The Governor General's Foot Guards) in Wissel, Germany. March/April, 1945.

The tank appears to be fitted with an 8-tube smoke discharger I've never seen before. It's a fine study of a combat vehicle and building damage at excellent resolution.

IIRC there were some last minute tweaks to various units based on research. To avoid ‘breaking’ scenarios authors had the choice to retain the older TOE or update. Some did but others would take too long to repurchase and redeploy (not counting reassigning AI groups, unit objs etc).

@akd who is a ToE whizz would be better able to comment for sure

In the base RT and FR scenarios(at least as far as I'm aware, flicked through about half the FR scenarios and most of the base game ones), Soviet Rifle Battalion 44 squads are like this: with 3 teams

However when choosing a Soviet rifle battalion in the scenario editor, all the battalion 44 squads will be like this: near identical, but missing one of the teams.

Additionally; the 1st platoon of each company is now SMGs
(1st battalion is the one currently in use for FR Katabasis, 2nd is an identical one I added for comparison of what's in the scenario compared to what we seem to get now(squads above are both taken from these formations)) No pictures, but I also pulled up some rifle battalions in June 1944 and it was the same.

Just wondering if this was intentional or a bug because I don't see any changes mentioned in the readmes or patch thread. Additionally, neither the base game or FR scenarios have squads like this, it's just what I get when I pick that formation now.

The examples I've used here are all Guards Rifle 44, but it seems to be consistent for regular rifle battalion 44s as well

I don't want to alarm anyone, but there appears to be a HUGE problem with the Canadian uniforms in CMSF:2.
Have a look at these fellas that greeted me when I loaded up the Cunuckian campaign:

Year 2008. Arid CADPAT - check. C7A2s - check. BEWs - check. Olive green Load Bearing Vest circa Bosnia 1994 ... what in the tabarnak is this?
Alright, drama for the sake of comedy aside, this is a strange one considering in CMSF:1 Canadian troops were (correctly) represented as wearing all Arid CADPAT gear. Where as it seems for CMSF:2 a conscious decision was made to change the Canadian uniform artwork and clad troops in their ancient OG LBVs.
Yes, the Canadians kept using the LBVs well out of the 90's - even surviving the introduction of CADPAT. In fact the initial force into Afghanistan wore Temperate Woodland CADPAT and OG LBVs. Afghanistan c.2002 (source and  source) :

Not long after in 2003, the new Tac-Vests are introduced, albeit still in "Temperate Woodland"; the LBVs are never seen in combat operations again. (source and source) :

Then in 2004 Arid uniforms and C7A2s were introduced. Can you believe they still drove the ILTIS in Afghanistan in 2004? (source and source) :

"Arid uniform - Green TacVest" combo survived for a while, well into Op Medusa in 2006 (source) :

By 2007 however, the entire ensemble can be seen in Arid CADPAT; also issued ballistic eyewear is introduced (source and source) :

Thank you for making it to the end of my brief on The Woes of the Canadian Military Equipment Procurement.
Seems pretty clear that by mid-2008 CMSF timeline the gear would be all Arid CADPAT and new-pattern TacVest ... as it was in CMSF:1.
Anyone have any insight into what happened in CMSF:2 with the LBV's? @MikeyD or @BFCElvis perhaps?
    Cheers!

    What about them Erwin?
They're human beings and they deserve to be able to do what anyone else can in the US military.
The only thing your good for is sitting in your chair and bitching about people taking jobs or something, luckily your backwards disgusting opinions are all very unpopular with most of the country. Keep your bigoted views to yourself or find some obscure dirty hole on the internet where you can whine.
