  1. Thank you, for both your kind words re- my cancer treatment. And for your explanation about the Shermans. As a FCUM-ite, I can't see the word "BURY" without "MRE Louder than bombs" coming to mind.
  2. I've never seen this tank described as a "Hybrid" before. And I always thought that it came from 11th Armoured Division. You learn new things even at my age.
  3. I think the correct term is "Limeyland". I'm still trying to teach my USatian girlfriend that.
  4. Many thanks. Recovery is slow, but the girlfriend takes great care of me, and even listens to me waffling on about CM.
  5. A combination of cancer treatment, and then needing to buy a new PC, means that I have built up a backlog of stuff to play. But, I will certainly buy this at sometime. Having been to Kleve for a meal once, and seeing how lovely it is, I might feel a pang of guilt if I have to pound it to bits. Ho hum.
  6. Ah, needing a ladder to go apple picking. We were all so much younger then.
  7. @Kohlbie Thanks for letting us all know so quickly. And @Paper Tiger for the prompt action.
  8. Okeh, thanks for the reply. Perhaps a German truck would have been better. But, I will just pretend that a local haulage firm bought a truck from the US before the war to gain bragging rights over their competitors.
  9. @Paper Tiger The full title of of the scenario that came with the base game is "Silence the Guns - Brecourt Manor". So sorry for any confusion. It's been a long time since I played it, but I don't recall the guns firing off into the distance. To be honest I was so focused on attacking the gun position that I never rotated the camera to see that the map took in Utah Beach until you mentioned it above. One quick question about your own new mission. There appears to be a US truck knocked out just in front of the Set-up Zone. Is that right? Or, am I seeing things?
  10. I used Uncam without a hitch. When I opened the new campaign folder all the missions are listed as .btt files. Click on the ones you might want to look at, then just copy, and paste into your Scenarios folder. I tested it out because I wanted to see how the new "Silence" battle compared to "Silence the Guns" from the base game.
  11. Just downloaded it, and taken a quick peek. I look forward to losing it in style once I've finished my current campaign.
  12. Happy New Year! And thanks for all the work you've put into this.
  13. I prefer to send my men to their deaths with Woody Guthrie's "When the Yanks go Marching in" ringing in their ears. but, each to their own.
  14. Rumour has it that when the de Sade was locked up in the Bastille, he played a game called Mission de combat, based on the exploits of Lafayette.
  15. The progress that you are making is really whetting my appetite. I'm really looking forward to sending those colonial ne'er do wells to their deaths.
  16. Looking at the rain lashing down here in Limeyland, the above gave me a bloody good laugh.
  17. Thanks for keeping us updated. Merry Christmas, or some such humbug.
  18. An interesting piece. I like the story of how he used to invite himself into people's houses around Westminster, if he heard music being played. And rather than tell them to stop, he'd have a beer, and a sing song with them. Of course, he was still a right-wing s***, who'd have had me strung up if out paths had crossed.
  19. @PEB14 I don't mind being wrong. That's how we learn things. But, I can only go by what is on the page in front of me. It would be nice to give @Paper Tiger a definitive answer, although I think his reworking of the campaign will be great whether we are up against Stugs or Marders. Perhaps BFC could pay for us all to go on a Jolly Boy's outing to Koblenz. Spend our days in the Bundesarchiv, and our evenings in a pub, or two.
  20. @JM Stuff Don't ask how I know. But, Liz does sing in the bath.
  21. As long as they fall victim to our colonial cousins, I don't really mind the correct name of the unit they belonged to. But, thanks for the input guys.
  22. That is a really good book. Sadly, my copy fell victim to water damage at my old hovel some years past.
  23. Yes, it was a bit pricey. I payed for it entirely in £1 coins. much to the bemusement of the bloke on the counter in the Megastore on Oxford Street. Ah, we were all so much younger then, I had a massive crush on Liz Fraser from Cocteau Twins at the time. Meanwhile this is the photo I mentioned above. ...
  24. @Paper Tiger I've taken a break from hanging up my girlfriend's Xmas decorations, and dug out my old D-day Then and Now Vol. 2. There is indeed a picture of a knocked out Stug from 709 on page 398. Okeh, back to work.
