  1. I dont think those 2 Plattoons could've turned the battle that much anyway, as they were lacking any anti-tank capability whatsoever. Had they had additional shreks and maybe some Panzerfausts they could've theoretically had some impact on Gelb. But yeah,. I agree, considering that you attacked its am really good result.. Well played indeed.
  2. wow, the casualties look surprisingly close, could you show us how much of that the Flamethrower at Blau caused? Still from whats actually left on both Sides I'd really count this as a clear Soviet Victory. Really great AAR, While I honestly was skeptical abou some of your Strategical Decisions it was really Interesting to see how things worked out, especially love the breakthrough rush to Gelb. that was some cool Soviet Style Mobility right there. Also I was really excited to see T34/85 knock out a Panther, I will prefer those things so much over the lousy US-Shermans
  3. Great AAR, kinda sad that you couldnt turn it around, but respect for going up against Bil. Maybe you couldve used some more Metzger Style Heroism And maybe more Shreks and Panzerfausts ^^ So, are we gonna see C3K send in a Soviet Human Wave next?
  4. I agree that the German Engineering couldve used a higher Focus on Reliability, especially concerning Centralisation. I remember quite a few Accounts of German Battle Equipment not being repaired because different Vehicles of the same Basic Type needed different Parts from different Companys and stuff like that. Also a lot of their Equipment was too expensive in Upkeep and not tailored for the Terrain or even bordering on the Borders of Physics (Tigers not being able to turn their Turrets at certain Inclinations and Stuff like that) I dont think those Problems make a point against the importance of advanced technology by itself. Also any Countercounter by Bil against a Counterattack on Gelb wil be at least delayed by the Minefield, I dont believe Bil would risk rushing Infantry from the open road into Counterattack Positions. But the longer Elvis does NOT counter, the closer the Russians get, and the thinner and thinner his timewindow gets. I say counterattack now while your troops are not engaged and try to stop the momentum of the Sovjet Advance while you still can. Or at least, go out in a blaze of glory
  5. With the Difference that this Time the Facists and Neonazis are on the other Side
  6. I'm not sure if thats correct. I think Good Training and "overengineering" are kinda Key for Operating with a relatively small Manpower and Ressource Pool of Germany compaired to the Russians to even stand a chance at all. The early years of the Eastern Front are a good proof of that (though probably russian forces then would not be "good enough")
  7. Okay I can totally understand strengthening the AI in Ways like that. It needs every Advantage it can get. Leaves me curious what was the basis for the design decision to handle german and american mgs differently
  8. Oh nice, I didnt get that you retreated sideways. That might have interesting Effects
  9. The Return would've been keeping the ISUs and a large chunk of the Soviet Attacker occupied.
  10. I kinda dislike the Idea of Reducing MG Team Size for "Game" Reasons. It takes away from the realism for me. Also: US MG Teams can split? you mean they have ammo bearer teams? Cuase I've never seen a Split Command on any of my HMGs
  11. Could you maybe give us a zoomed out Situation Shot especially for the Area around Blau and Rot? I'm getting a little confused about the Tactical Situation there. Also: any plans for the Infantry Platoon behind the Mine Belt blocking the Wood Approach to Gelb, now that the Objective they protected is in Russian Hands?
  12. Oh so the Hit Decals are visible for both sides, thats interesting. I think it might be a little Gamy to judge the Enemy Armor status from holes your troops couldnt really spot, but I still dig it. Still pretty Excited that the Rush for Gelb happened and worked. And generally very much looking forward to seeing the Rest of this AAR. (and the Release. Give me the Release!!! )
  13. This is insanely cool. Also the info on the "saving throw" is really useful. It explains why my Canadian Paratroopers sometimes seem kinda invincible.
  14. I'm kinda impressed by the success of Elvis Flamethrower Team, but I still would#ve preferred to see him not withdraw from Blau and instead fighting it out. Its just a Matter of Time til the Flamer gets caught, and then he basically conceded the Objective without any real resistance and without binding any Enemy Armor. I also wonder if hes considering using his now Isolated Platoon behind the Minebelt to try and Counterattack on Gelb while its not consolidated. As far as I can tell Bil doesnt even know its there. And I think it would be a great chance to turn something around and maybe get some KT34 Kills. But well, to me it seems like Elvis's Armor is basically in a bad spot, undersupported, no good spotting, under Air Attack and about to be flanked. If he doenst get lucky I'd say this ones in the Bag for Bil.
  15. As I said I'm well aware of its historical use. And noted that Bil seems to consider it a relevant threat. Sadly I dont have the time to do any real testing but am only basing my opinion on a few occurences with a lot of different variables on top. I've seen heavy casualties caused by artillery in woods, by lucky direct hits, and I've also seen a complete Mortar Battry and multiple PAKs surviving an onslaught of Rockets in deep Wood, so I just dont know about the Effect of Trees in the Engine I still think theres a spotting problem with the positions we are talking about, and I personally dislike preplanned barrages on moving targets. But maybe thats just me being bad with artillery.
