  1. Yowza! That would be great! I was reading a book on the T34 commanders and several mentioned how much the Russians liked the Valentines.
  2. Yes, I wish they'd include Valentine tanks, though they probably weren't in use by the time represented in the game. On that note, I wish they'd reconsider an earlier time frame and include at least Stalingrad, Leningrad, or the Operation Typhoon. Well, I guess it's called "Red Thunder" for a reason and earlier years of the war might have Germans stealing some of that thunder
  3. Bleaaaarrrrrrrr! I check the homepage as part of my morning coffee routine...telling myself as I've done lately to just skip it so as not to be disappointed. And then for about half a sec I go from Hallelujah to what the....? Nother sip of coffee. Tell myself they must be close. Real close. Or BF's just shaking my cage.
  4. I'm hoping by Friday to click on the Battlefront icon on my laptop and see something other than that December 5th announcement.
  5. Ah, at least it's sunny compared to your just-finished AAR, and with Canadians vs. Italians: I can't think of a friendlier, warmer face-off
  6. Thanks for putting hearts and minds in the "flesh-and-bones" of your characters. The story was quite enjoyable. Now I'm off to read a few of your others!
  7. With the other AAR done, this is what keeps me coming back during my early morning coffee (that and constant checking for the game's release ) Thanks! Looks like those German behemoths are just pillboxes now and the German infantry look like arcade ducks. This is what happens when one piecemeals an assault.
  8. On to Antwerp then is it? Congrats! I usually only catch a smattering of these AARs, typically only following one side. But I've been following both sides blow by blow. Well played!
  9. I second what several have said. This is the AAR I've followed more religiously than any other. Cliffhangers almost every day. I wasn't going to buy this game, backlogged as I am with other games coming out this quarter, but darn it all, it's on my insta-buy list now
  10. Hehehe...Thought I was the only one that impulsive. Just bought DL on preorder yesterday. Hey, it's my vacation and the handful of games I had penciled in for purchase that were estimated to come out during the winter of 2015 have all been delayed until spring or later, though I'm sure CMBS will come out shortly. DL will be some raunchy fun until CMBS comes out.
  11. Not ready yet = N'yet There must be some kind of Murphy's Law for game release. Not talking just Battlefront, of course, but probably every blockbuster AAA game. Or perhaps an equation that somehow states the proposition that the release date of X game is delayed in direct proportion to Y amount of preorders times Z amount of hype. It seems 2015 has already especially come to be the year of big game delays, judging from titles I've been following. On personal level, I find that whenever a game is roughly scheduled to be released during my vacation, it inevitably gets delayed until some time when I'm back at work. If this is the case, the best way to speed up Black Sea's release would be for me to take one for the team by cutting short my vacation and going back to work today.
  12. I also want to express my thanks for the manual. I seldom respond on these forums but I read and enjoy them a lot, especially the AARs. The manual will whet my appetite while I await the game's release
  13. Reminds me of Saving Private Ryan, where, if I remember correctly, the US sergeant and the German run out of ammo and start throwing helmets and empty pistols at each other.
  14. My son doesn't listen to me anyway. I told him Scipio was an Italian brand of peanut butter. He didn't believe me--and look what a jam he got himself in.
  15. Played two scenarios and one quick battle of CMRT and got my a$$ handed to me twice by the AI. Grrrr, I'm pissed
  16. Checking BF's website after Bil and Elvis' AAR has been like watching the grass grow.
  17. The only time I tried real-time with CM was with the Afghanistan theater. It was intense and fun, and I actual did OK on some of the smaller engagements, but I went back to wego. I would consider real-time again only if there was a way to hand over some broad tactical decisions to the AI on the platoon or company level, which could then send radio signals up the chain, cluing me in on the battle and asking for direction (somewhat the way Graviteam's series does this by lighting up the map when under attack, retreating, or a commander dies, and allowing you to go straight to the point of contact). But like everybody else, I still enjoy a good "movie" by rewinding and checking out the POV around the battlefield.
  18. The devs say approximately three months on Wasteland 2. It's essentially done, with a lot of spoilers stripped out as they tweak the combat system. Yeah, that one's on my wish list as I don't want too many early release games cluttering my computer. Right now, Xenonauts is the one that I actually play; otherwise, I just have a couple of ER games sitting on my computer to check out occasional updates. Frankly, I'm glad BF doesn't do early release since it spares me from struggling with my haywire impulse control
  19. I was checking a couple of times a week. Now, it's a couple of times a day
  20. I think if Kirk, McCoy, and Spock were to beam down, they wouldn't be wearing standard Enterprise issue, but something more likely to blend in....
  21. Wow, this is sooner than I expected! You'll be getting my March-cha-ching orders before the spring thaw
