  1. CM's AF is way to accurate.

Image you are a BAR gunner, now look at a grove that is 200m away from you. Image the sergeant shouting, fire at the woods. I see movement at the left side of the woods.

OK , so you are going to shoot left side of the woods, but what is the exactly aiming point? You probably just fire a short burst here and there. Spray the bullets in an area that cover part of the woods. So area fire should have longer reaction time and larger dispersion。

Hopefully in the future we will have a separate command that cover the area fire.

TOWs aren’t everything they’re cracked up to be. In my last battle I hit a T-64 four or five times in the front with TOWs and the darn thing never brewed and in fact, from my perspective,  seemed operational.

    Good luck!

wait for one that will penetrate the low front hull.

lost 3 Pz IV. 1 suffered unrecoverable damage from T-34/85 (burning + ammo cook off). 2 from ZIS-3.  Several other got damaged.

First five min I sent a PzG platoon to clear and secure the buildings on the German right wing . Then Deployed a smoke screen there. I left one Pz IV on the left wing, use it to support a recon team there (and also function as a radio station), Pz Bn leader station behind, sit with PzG Company commander to share spotting information together.

The rest of the Pz Co cross the wood, move to the right wing then turn 90 degree left. Wait for smoke dissipate. And, Panzer March!

This is probably about an animation glitch, but it is funny to watch.

AP shell is flying a large angle away from the direction of the gun barrel.

    dGNXaSR.jpeg

it's caused by the Aiming. during this process the turning of gun is stopped in the animation, but the game is still probably put the gun's turning into the hit or miss calculation.

Video of the two engagements, they are the same Pak40 shooting the two T-34/76 moving at high speed at close range (which has a high bearing rate change.

  5. Hope it is not too late.

Is it possible to give rebel force some BRDM-2. would love to see the BRDM-2 in action. And it would be fantastic if a scenario can be create for BRDM-2 only. It would be similar to the mission 2 in which your recon reinforced with Anti-tank weapon take on Loyal force reinforcement. In a BRDM-2 recon mission, a success can increase next missions intel level.

    And FYI

it looks like in CMSF2 the Syrian AT-4C ATGM team and BRDM-2 (AT-5) anti tank vehicle are bugged. They have thermal sights .   It's a very weird bug because AT-4A, AT-4B  and BMP-1P(AT-4C), BMP-2  don't have this issue.   It's just those two weird units have some advance sights that they don't carry in RL.

One point is that some of these maps are very large and so it would seem like it's a bit of a stretch just to have a single company when a battalion would be better.

A single company? To take THAT?! Are you HIGH?" And this...

    Looking forward to that.

And this is the most important lesson I learned from CMSF 1 Dinas campaign. There is no way I can afford a house to house assault with a single company. To survive this campaign it would be better to keep a mind of bypass. Always check which objective you can grab and which you cannot. Plot a course that reach the objective while avoid the dense build up area. However, we need to identify the buildings those have clear LOF on the maneuver, occupy those buildings or use firepower to suppress/destroy them.

Isn't it rather an indication that the Ukrainian claims have been significantly overstated? I can't imagine Russians going on as if nothing happened if they lost 13 SU-34/35 per week. That is ca. 10% of their entire fleet of those aircraft.

I am inclined to think that the Russians only lost those 2 planes whose crash has been confirmed by photos.

First rule of Aerial warfare. Divide the wartime claimed kills by 3 (sometime even have to divide it by 7)

Also, Russia could develop then filed something similar to ADM-160 MALD decoy missile/drone.

In CW I ran BTR vs M2 at 25m on a flat range and was unable to get pens from the front, sides, or rear. RPG7 & AT7 get pens from the front.

    Ahhh, Thanks

I would argue with the Dev team this is not correctly modeled.

  9. Yes, spotting in low visibility scenario can be very tricky. Please note on one hand the low visibility will reduce the LOS range, on the other hand, LOS =/= effective spotting range.

a dense fog will reduce the LOS to 1000m, but the enemy tank can still sneak into a 200m range without been spotted.

And, here is the most important part. If the enemy tank open fire, the muzzle flash will reveal his position, and he could attract return fire from all your units in 1000m range.

High explosives and ricochets still cause friendly casualties but your units do not misidentify other friendly units and fire upon them anymore. This only really applied to the Syrian side as their C2 is nowhere near as good as your average Blue force.

PT, FYI, misidentify other friendly units and fire upon them can still happen during night battle.

Just before I hit the post button I run another test and noticed something weird, PPSh-41 and PPS-43 have different rate of fire when issued area fire command. As the attached video shows, PPS-43 behave more like a MP40.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEh66ZGUtB0

That partially makes sense as PPS-43 has full auto mode only while there are several versions of PPSh-41 can make single shot. However the question is , will this fire rate difference cause any lethalness difference in CM gameplay?  This is something I need to look into later.

The fire rate table has been updated

min 0 min 1 min 2 min 3 min 4 min 5   Rate of fire
    StG44 0 53 97 151 194 251   50.2
    MP40 0 126 248 379 492 624   124.8
    PPSh-41 0 77 167 227 308 392   78.4
    PPS-43 0 149 299 423 551     137.8

Update, PPS-43 is the most lethal SMG at long range in CMRT.

A Debt Repaid main tactic was to use the German Halftracks as an IFV. Occupied all objectives and with 57 minutes left called a ceasefire. Major Victory.

Did you experience any weird evade behavior on the small hill at the Soviet right wing?  My German full strength infantry squad became heavily suppressed and running away from the woods after a lone surviving soviet bolt action riflemen fired two rounds.
