  1. I assumed it was dependent on the vehicles optics and the number of eyeballs in the vehicle. recon vehicles tend to be open topped which is a plus, maybe? but there are fewer guys inside to spot, and not all recon vehicles are open topped or have good optics. Tanks can have just as good optics, like later shermans. or abysmal ones like the early t34s, and the TC can pop his head out of a hatch with some binoculars just as a recon vehicle commander can. so unless BF gives recon crew bonus spotting skills under the hood I assume they are about the same, with one just being a cheaper piece of kit on the pixeltax payer.
  2. I'm not going to start getting excited until we have a manual drop, I've been through enough of CM releases to know the manual drops right before release.
  3. send an infantry Recon team ahead of the vehicle, use the recon vehicle as a base of firepower to extract the recon infantry if they encounter small arms fire. CM isnt a traditional RTS so recon vehicles have about the same spotting chance as a tank, they just get around the map faster and are cheaper. and because they are cheaper they make excellent ATG bait, better to lose a 120 pt car than a 250 pt tank
  4. not to take this off topic too much, but there is a pretty good Medieval mod for Atilla actually. not a remake of medieval, or medieval 2, but certainty strong enough to be worth checking out if you already have Atilla.
  5. yes, sadly and I'm kinda sick of seeing it. its the bob semple tank. the internets haha meme tank https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Semple_tank yes I am a grump edit: I too am excited to have some su100/jagdpanther shootouts
  6. the name of this scenario is burned into by brain, I know it well. and I love it in the worst sort of way. I cannot wait to drive myself crazy again in something that is in the same spirit.
  7. I agree, too many wehraboos exist, that being said the soviets for the most part knew what worked and kept their ill fated experiments off the front lines in favor of things that were proven. I'm just happy to get the su85m tbh.
  8. VDV will have to wait for a module, just like black sea I suppose.
  9. Wow, new TOE is going to be expansive, hopefully the German mountain troops wont be left out of the QB TOE list like in R2V. new soviet stuff feels light in comparison to all the German stuff, but that makes perfect sense. would have been nice to see the PTRS sneak in or something weird like the T-44 and T-34/57. but those I don't think saw front line use.
  10. =( no Gebirgsjäger in QB still. makes me slightly sad. but overall happy to have a patch.
  11. its also something you can experience in base FI by setting your troop equipment in the editor to poor. it'll replace all those m1's with 1903a3's. still works with the US in R2V. though it doesn't replace the grenade launcher m1's.
  12. they are basically just US forces with 1903's and 1917s instead of garands. no armor, i think there is some US made armored cars? alot of the new countries have infantry only rosters.
  13. BF appears to have bug tested the game into oblivion, but i'm still just going to start collecting things. Gebirgjager infantry formation is missing in QBs (scouts an engineers are there for the gebirgs thou) Stug (lastest) appears in the manual but not the game StuH (lastest) also has same issue Flammpanzer III has incorrect number of crew (at least from my readings)
  14. I took am looking and cannot find them. I dont think they are in the module. we may have to wait for a unit pack
  15. so not this weekend... but very very soon. Monday madness?
  16. huh, weird question, but is there a reason the Stug G (lastest) isnt in R2V according to the BF site TO&E?
  17. comics with spelling errors? I've never done that, nope not ever /s good job, I dislike the blood smear or whatever is it overlaying the panels. its fine in the gutters, but the panels shouldn't be layered over like that IMO.
  18. So i have using the Crocodile in Normandy in some QB's lately and i have discovered that the flame thrower on vehicles is grouped into the "heavy weapons" category of targeting commands and kinda find this annoying. I feel like have both a flamethrower and cannon blasting a target at close range is a little over kill and wasteful of ammo on the cannon, this problem extends to the OT-34 (and E4-5) and ponder why BF might have felt vehicle based flamer throwers couldn't be used with Target light?
  19. my grin is from ear to ear, glad to have a bone to chew on for a bit.
  20. hurrah Italian news! i am quite satisfied, i cant wait to explore the subtle differences in the to&e.
