  1. Can anyone point me to a website or forum article on how we gamers can choose our own small arms 'order of importance' collection? The current settings for retrieving weapons from the KIA and WIA's isn't to my liking. If this hasn't been discussed before would someone be so kind as to explain the process to reconfigure the settings for any of us who are interested in more ways transform our gaming experience.
  2. The late war Fallschirmjager were issued two rifle grenades per squad and the SS Panzergrenadier didn't receive any? Seems unlikely, especially when the SS Grenadiers obtained some. I couldn't find any reference material concerning the actual number of schiessbecher issued to the late war Fallschirmjager. What sources does BF use to get their historical data?
  3. I assume this is the best place to put glitch in the game or should I contact BF support? Anyway I'll post it and I'm sure someone will tell me if it's the wrong place. I have noted that upon recovering an MP44 from a KIA/ WIA no other 7.92x39mm Kurz is relinquished but what's in the magazine. It doesn't matter if the squad/ team has original issue or has been allocated more munitions. All the rest of the 7.92 Kurz ammo vanishes! I'm surprised no body has observed this issue.
  4. I was excited for the release of 3.0 but now I'm not sure what I received. I had my Vid Card dialed in to stop the flashing/ blinking of soldiers and vehicles. That has now returned and some strange actions of my AT crews not deploying, then walking away when they have not been order to move. I was ready to load troops on AFVs and run them into battle but I am still not able to. I played the demo of RT so I was expecting to do the same with this new engine. Are the 3.0 engines not created equal? Has anyone figured out how to deploy or find the ammo dumps?
  5. A skirmish with the Germans vs. the Brits; I have a 3 man team in a house consisting of an MP40, MG42 and a Kar98. During the firefight my Kar98 and MP40 solders and killed. Shortly thereafter there is a lull in the fighting so the 42 gunner had time to buddy aid and retrieve some ammo (but not all weapons). He then burns up the rest of the 7.92mm ammo leaving him 165rds of 9mm but no MP40?! Yeah I know he has a P38 but it’s not the same. This glaring deficiency in SMG and assault rifle retrieval has been posted on the forum many times yet the problem persists. Yes I understand that it is theoretically possible that the SMG was damaged somehow but we’ll never know because the game currently won’t allow the collection of SMG’s or assault rifles (unless it is a soldier who is caring only a pistol). Because solders that only have side arms will collect SMG’s and assault rifles we know that it is physically possible for this to process to happen, consequently, this is nothing more than a settings issue. A MG solider will use his MG for long and medium distance and switch to a pistol for short range. There isn’t a good reason why a rifle solider can’t retrieve an SMG or assault rifle and use them in tandem based on range and ammo content. This issue affects all armies so everyone should be on board with a settings correction. Discussing this issue on the forum has become palling. Will someone on the BFCM staff PLEASE correct the weapon priority parameters on the 3.0 engine and next 3.0 patch so this issue will be fixed once and for all! Then I can finally go back to worshiping the CM God.

  8. I have read the CM game engine 2.0 manual from cover to cover but I cannot make a campaign. That is, I cannot create a correct campaign script file. I get a message of; incorrect syntax in campaign on line 1 in the editor. I don’t know what the correct script is or how to correct it. Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?
  9. No issues!? Are you joking? This game has more issues than the New York Times! I have ridiculous LOS issues in CMFI and I won't purchase any more CM games for all the problems associated with this platform. I've had a team right behind an AT gun next to a building (3m with no obstructions) that couldn't see the gun! WTF! And on several occasions have had teams assault tanks next to buildings that were 5m or less right behind the AVF that were unable to see it! No excuses can explain away these egregious examples of soldier's inability to see a 30 ton vehicle in plan site with zero impairment. Those are just a few examples of hundreds of questionable LOS matters I have experienced. I could write a dissertation on ways to improve this game and I'm not the only one. Spend a little time reading the CM forums.
  10. This is one of the worst aspects of this game. Whatever idiot game designer thought buddy aid was a good idea should be fired and fed to piranha's (slowly). Buddy aid is a horribly daft concept and should be completely separate from the collection of material from the dead and wounded. This game has so many thoughtful features, that's why buddy aid is so incredibly idiotic. As stated; it can take time to get started on collection or collect at inopportune times. I've had soldiers almost lying on top of dead comrades that wouldn't pick-up weapons or ammo until I ran them away from the bodies. Stupid! And if you are trying to pick-up a SMG, forget about it. Why won't one of these clearly overpaid BF monkeys change the coding to allow the retrieved of SMG’s. It is maddening! The ACQUIRE KEY is what should be used to gather all material not just in vehicles or bunkers. We SHOULD have ability to pick up weapons (quickly if needed) by the use of the ACQUIRE KEY. What should take the place of buddy aid has been discussed frequently on the forum and that is adding medical personnel, which would be the best option. This is another in a long list of s**t that needs to be addressed by the BF crew. But apparently churning out new games and game engines instead of listening to their customers is BF's priority. Positive game reviews makes the BF machine happy but us customers want alterations to this existing extremely flawed game now! Not in BFs exceedingly slow time line if it happens at all.
  11. I’m confused at the ludicrous oversight in this game concerning weapons retrieval that the CM monkeys let stand. This game has so many well thought out features consequently the lack of ability to gather certain weapons is mystifying. Collecting small arms from the dead and wounded is part of the gaming experience. CM does extensive research into battles, dates, landscapes, and structures to create an accurate gaming experience which customers appreciate. But in the end the game is only as good as its weakest design. TOW2 made all weapons retrieval easy and a soldier could gather enemy material as well. This is all possible in CM but BF has a bewildering lack of deference to its customers. I wish more gamers would let BF know they aren’t purchasing any more CM games until this correction is made. Speak with you cash!
  12. It's refreshing to see troops can finally ride on AFVs, considering we the customers have been asking for this ability since CMBN was released. Ammo dumps have also finally been supplied but upon splitting German squads, has the 9mm ammo distribution been fixed? Has the inexcusable oversight concerning weapons retrieval been corrected? Can the Germans now recover their MP40 and MP44's from the fallen? What about the inability of troops to collect weapons and equipment from the fallen in vehicles? Has the idiotic buddy aid weapons and ammo retrieval system been terminated, favoring the common sense use of the acquire key to gather weapons and equipment quickly? Has the ridiculous inaccuracy of gun and mortar crews’ inability to dismount from their weapon and return when safe been corrected? Finally, will CM gamers ever have a chance to target only fragmentation grenades? It’s unbelievably stupid that a smoke grenade can be deliberately thrown but a frag grenade cannot. Did any of the CMBN team ever play Theatre of War 2? Clearly CMBN, FI & now RT are the next generation of TOW2 so how much of a real improvement is it if you lose some gaming capabilities while gaining others? CMBN may be the best WWII game on the market but due lack of competition and plethora of correctable gaming issues, really makes it the smartest retard at the table. BF’s audaciously condescending treatment of its customers is appalling. Repeated requests from their customers on the forum to correct obvious errors in CMBN/ FI are disregarded. When a patch is finally released the corrections are justified but many fixes are inconsequential not glaring flaws as discussed above. Due to the incredibly poor customer service I will not purchase any other BF games. If a product is broken or defective we expect the company to stand by their product. To repair or refund the purchase is what a respectable business does. BF can't expect loyalty from their customers if they don't show them deference. Unfortunately CMGL is no longer playable due to seriously glaring defects and BF will not refund my purchases, consequently I now spend my open gaming time discouraging other gamers form purchasing any CM games on various websites. Other disgruntled CM customers should do the same to illustrate that BF can't run a 21st century company in this inflexible contemptuous fashion.
  13. Hey BF stupid games called and they want CMFI/GL back. Are you kidding me with this ridiculous sh*t? • My guys are in a crater (10m) from the enemy in another crater and won’t throw a frag grenade!? I want to target a FG but can’t! WTF! I could target a smoke grenade at the enemy but not frag . . . unbelievably stupid!! We should have ability to target FGs just like SGs • I lost a machine gunner on a hill assault, so I want the assistant gunner or anyone else to recover the weapon and keep up the assault. I don’t need anything else reclaimed yet because I’m in motion! I’m attacking all I want is the MG - But no! I have to wait for f**king buddy aid and the long collection process of all the available material. WTF?! Incredibly stupid!! We should have ability to pick up weapons by the use of the ACQUIRE KEY. Buddy aid should be separate from weapons collection. If and when we have the time to give buddy aid then we can leave soldiers around to care for the wounded. Or what has been discussed frequently on the forum is adding medical personnel which would be the best option. • I lose a Sten gun carrying Para or a MP40 packing Fallschirmjager and their comrades can’t reclaim the weapon!? WTF?! On the battle field that weapon would have been retrieve!! Why can’t our CM soldiers recover SMG’s?! Exceedingly stupid!! It's the ACQUIRE KEY brains! You created it BF now let’s use it to pick up ALL weapons and material! I’m mystified at the ludicrous oversights in this game that BF lets stand. BF does extensive research into battles, dates, landscapes, and structures to create an accurate gaming experience which we all appreciate. But in the end the game is only as good as its weakest design. These flaws (many are easy fixers) have been discussed many times on the forum with no action taken by BF. The lack of deference to ‘us’ the customer is bewildering. The forum is full of needed changes but also wonderful ideas to improve this game, yet BFs attitude is; the game is good enough so F**k off gamers . . . But please purchase our next CM game.
  14. This set of CM games get poor reviews because these games full of design flaws. I’m mystified at the ludicrous oversights in this game that BF lets stand. BF does extensive research into battles, dates, landscapes, and structures to create an accurate gaming experience which we all appreciate. Yet many of these simple to correct flaws have been discussed many times on the boards with zero response by BF. The lack of deference to ‘us’ the customer is bewildering. The forum is full of needed changers but also wonderful ideas to improve this game, yet BFs attitude is; the game is good enough so F**k off . . . But please purchase our next CM game.
  15. This is one of the worst aspects to this game. Buddy aid should be completely separate from collecting material from the dead and wounded. This game has so many well thought out features that's why buddy aid is so incredibly idiotic. As stated by ian.leslie it can take time to get started on collection, I've had soldiers almost lying on top of dead comrades that wouldn't pick-up weapons or ammo until I ran them away from the body. Stupid! And if you are trying to pick-up a SMG forget about it. This daft game won't allow the retrieved of pistol caliber weapons and the retrieval of pistol caliber ammo is spotty. It is maddening!! The acquire key is what should be used to gather all material not just in vehicles or bunkers. This is another of a long list of sh*t that needs to be addressed on this game by battlefront. But apparently they are too busy making new games instead of listening to their customers who want alterations to the existing imperfect game.
  16. I have promoted a modification in the acquire key ever since the release of CMFI. Sadly I’ve come to learn battlefront doesn’t listen or care about its customers so I don’t foresee anything good changing with respect to this issue anytime soon. Apparently only the reviews of gaming websites matter so until one of these sites mentions these short comings, we the customers aren’t going to get alteration.
  17. I have also advocated for the expanded use of the acquire key. It would allow more flexibility for us gamers but battlefront apparently doesn’t use great ideas from its customers. I also agree with tdogg concerning the ‘real life’ comment. The SMG’s were very popular with the Germans as seen in pics from the Eastern Front. Towards the end of the war there were squads made-up entirely of MP40’s. Currently if the Germans won’t pick-up their own SMG’s when CMEF comes out they surely won’t be able to acquire the PPSH. That is complete and total BS! Speaking of BS, I am shocked to hear that soldiers can’t retrieve the mighty MP44! WTF! I am so glad I didn’t purchase Normandy. I’m already unhappy with the SMG error but I would have been furious purchasing Normandy with the MP44 blunder. The MP44 is the original assault rifle which illustrated the short comings of the bolt action rifle. After Hitler was shown the power of the MP44/ STG44 he wanted one in every soldiers hand conversely the game won’t let soldiers recover them! Unbelievable! Seriously battlefront, WTF! This game overall is so thoughtfully designed consequently I have trouble understanding why this issue of weapons retrieval persists. It is an easy parameter fix for the software engineers so I am now convinced battlefront isn’t concerned with what its customers want. I am a small business owner and customer service is how I have a successful business. I won’t be purchasing anymore battlefront products.
  18. This CMFO/GL a great game and I hope the creators have been richly rewarded. I realize you guys get tons of requests for this and that from your customers. We all have our wish list of things we would like added or changed but over all this game is fantastic an we all thank you for that. I am relatively new to CM games because I started with CMFO when it was first released. It was a new and wonderful experience compared TOW2. One of the aspects I did like about TOW2 is the clean-up of solders weapons and equipment. CMFO is spotty in this area, hence the reason for this post. I have yet to play CMBN so I’m not sure how weapons are collected but in CMFO and GL most soldiers won’t pick up submachine guns (SMG). The only ones who will are packing pistols so I imagine they are happy to pick up anything with a barrel longer than 5” . . . but seriously this has to be an oversight and I would love a correction. I asked for a fix on the forum after the release of CMFO but sadly the 1st patch was released and no fix for the SMG error. I quit playing CMFO out of frustration due to the disregard for such a simple and easy request. Clearly this is a defect in the gaming parameters and I imagine it would take one of you big brained designers all of 5min to fix. I had planned on buying CMBN after the release of 2.0 but I couldn’t take the chance that game was any different in this area. Then Battlefront released one of my favorite subjects in a game; The Fallschirmjager in Italy! I had to have it and I hoped by now someone would have resolved this vexing weapons matter. Unbelievably it wasn’t fixed! Am I the only person who plays the axis version of this this game? SMG’s throw a lot more lead down range than bolt action rifles so when a soldier with a SMG goes down I want another to pick it up and do some killin’! I would like to have many more hours of exciting gaming with Battlefront products but this issue is making me crazy. So as a loyal Battlefront gaming customer will you please correct the collection of fire arms oversight? Regards, Woz
  19. No you didn’t miss anything. I have posted twice before under a different name but I misplaced my hand written passwords. I found this out after I had to reboot my computer. I had battlefront send me a new password to my msn account which I also could no longer access. Msn has a number of hoops to jump through to verify my identification. I quickly got tired of their verification games. So I may never go back to that old address. My primary address was with Gmail anyway so I’m back!
  20. Let me start off with the new CMFI-GL is GREAT! All the new additions in troops and equipment are wonderful. There are a few issues I have noticed during battle I would love to see corrected. Fallschirmjagergewehr 42 - as you know was designed to be a semi-auto rifle/ light machine gun. The FG42 depicted in the game seems to be the pre-production model. It is great when we are lucky enough to get one in a squad or scout team. It’s my understanding when a battalion received some of these new rifles for battle testing the amount would be 15-20 units. The game gives a battalion 2-3 rifles which is considerably less. The way they are distributed is puzzling as well because they replace an MP40. The FG42 replaced K98 rifles due to the high value placed on the MP40 used extensively by the Fallschirmjager (FJ). The intermediate model FG42 being produced in October 1943 making their way to the front lines in the beginning of 1944 consequently the 44 FJ would have employed more MP40’s and more FG42’s than the 43 FJ. The G43’s is a very cool addition to the 44 FJ as well. Maschinenpisole 38/40 - Research indicates the Fallschirmjager had an MP38/40 ratio of 1 to 4 in the early war years and a 1 to 3 ratio in the later war years, a greater ratio than the Army or SS. That’s why the 44 FJ squads are light on the machine pistols as they should have more not less than the 43 FJ’s. I bitched about this before and nothing was done so I’ll bitch some more. Most solders still won’t pick-up machine pistols. The only solider that will pick-up a machine pistol is a solider with a pistol but soldiers with rifles won’t. Doesn’t this bother anyone else? The British paras squads full of sten gun wielding soldiers which seems ridiculous but I don’t know enough about the make-up of the British para units. The Fallschirmjager made the MP40 a main stream combat weapon and should have more machine pistols per squad from a historical perspective especially because the FJ disarmed the Italian’s and confiscated a large amount of Beretta machine pistols. 9mm – The 9mm ammo count is 312rds for a 1944 Fallschirmjager squad with two machine pistols! That means if the squad is split each weapon carrier gets roughly 130rds because team C always gets some 9mm as well. A fully equipped solider would have 224rds (that is 7 magazines). The platoon leader carries more 9mm (per person) that his squads do! The 43 FJ are only a little bit better. They have a total of 576rds so upon splitting a squad we see; team A = 234rds, team B = 230rds, and team C = 112rds. As you know team A has two machine pistols so when these guys get a fire fight 117rds per man doesn’t last long and team C gets 112rds for one solider with a P38! Team C doesn’t need 112rds for a pistol!! Then I spit a different squad and got these numbers; team A = 256rds, team B = 272rds, and team C = 48. Why is team B getting more ammo with one machine pistol! This is super vexing during play because you can’t always get these teams close enough to share ammo. Not only should distribution be corrected but the squads should have more 9mm ammo to begin with. Fallschirmjager scout teams – I guess the there is a random FG42 generator for the scout teams due to the way one weapon pops up every once in a while. The issue here is twofold; 1st – The FG42 should replace the K98 not a machine pistol and 2nd - The 7.92mm ammo is only 65rds! Fix #1 – More FG42’s per squad in both the 43 and 44 Fallschirmjager Fix #2 – More machine pistols per squad in the 44 Fallschirmjager Fix #3 – FG42 replacing only K98 rifles Fix #4 – More 9mm ammo in the 43 and 44 Fallschirmjager squads. Fix #5 – Correct the way the 9mm ammo is distributed when splitting the Fallschirmjager squads Fix #6 – Correct the way the 7.62mm ammo count in the Fallschirmjager scout teams with an FG42 Fix #7 – Allow soldiers with rifles to pick-up and use machine pistols I hope the feedback didn’t come across to critical because I truly appreciate the work that everyone puts in creating this game and I look forward to future improvements.
  21. I did try and fix the weirdness, but I didn’t try manually deleting. Good to know for this time . . . The FG42 has been a favorite weapon of mine for years. So seeing it in the game is great! One of the best sources for the FG42 I came across recently. It’s a book by Osprey publishing titled ‘German automatic rifles 1941-45 by Chris McNab. It references the G41, G43, FG42, and StG43/44.
