  1. That certainly does make it more personal. I always forget to do that!
  2. I'd take that a step further and say, that's combat for you! Because moments like these are to me what sets CM games apart from any other. So I gnash my teeth on the one hand and scream "that's bloody brilliant" on the other!
  3. My brain was exploding when my own BMP chased away my T90 and it didn't take the perfect shot at Ian's tank. I mean, look at that picture... its a perfect set up and the enemy was totally unprepared!!! Argh!
  4. I don't think PNG is the issue. I'm on a Mac too. I can download the images, if I right click in Safari and then click download. Never used dropbox as an image host before so I don't know how to do it right, but the URL I see is what would be needed for a link to an direct download ("=1"). When it is "=0" its not an auto-download, it takes one to the dropbox page and one has to then click on the file there.
  5. If you want to see the grenade in the lower left frame, click on the image to get it to pop up, then click again for a larger image.
  6. More below! Nerve-wracking to not be sure if you’re pushing too hard or need rush even more!
  7. I snagged the file as I love maps and almost exclusively play QB. Thank you! I am mentioning the following in case I am not the only one: none of your images above display for me. That’s a pity.
  8. Good, it's supposed to be! These were some of the most nerve-wracking moments. Haha just teasing! By this point it was taking me 30+ minutes per turn to examine multiple turn replays and then issue my orders. Ian was shrewd in his use of tanks and it was really difficult to advance without something blowing up.
  9. This one you may need to click on, then click again for a high res view of the BMP/Tank duel in the bottom left frame.
  10. You must have once been under some terrible officers, Heinrich, the way you despise them all! Actually they were quite safe getting to the crossroads and ducking into those trees. The Ukrainian tanks nearby were sorted out by a nasty crossfire from multiple T90s and BMPs, the one that you see charging ahead put the coup-de-grace in the last one. That smoke has been a lifesaver time after time... And yes, there is artillery just finishing up ahead. In fact there is artillery landing in a lot of spots in short concentrated bombardments to stun/incapacitate any infantry waiting in the woods.
  11. I did the same update. CMRT did what you described but the others were fine. Totally weird.
  12. Note to readers: if you’re struggling to visualize where the squad is going to or coming from, don’t forget that page 2 of the comic has a map with locations listed, so go back in this thread to the beginning to see.
  13. I’m able to easily login to the UK store. But the moment I try the Canadian one it’s game over. I reported it as clearly there is some issue.
  14. That’s very kind. As an illustrative method for showing certain postures and techniques, I think you may be right. @Bil Hardenberger‘s blog shows nice screenshots of various techniques like overwatch etc. In terms of representing actual historical battles, I personally would be more cautious - anything we do would be a facsimile, perhaps detailed and researched but a facsimile nonetheless. Much like the painted plates showing battle scenes in the various Osprey books. Nice, very nice indeed, but much of it is simply an interpretation, more representative than factual. That doesn’t mean there is no value in doing it, just that one has to be cautious in how it is presented to the viewer to not mislead them unintentionally. Nonetheless an interesting concept.
  15. Blake & Mortimer is right behind Tintin for me, and I seriously love Tintin. Of the Blake & Mortimer books, I have to agree, Voronov Plot is indeed one of the best in that whole series. I would have a hard time finding one I like more.
  16. Thank you! It’s all done from scratch on my iPad. The coordinates are real, as is the altitude.
