  1. That would be something. It is difficult to put things together in the balkans because you might have some units to spare but no commanders to spare. Then the units are almost useless because of supply problems.
  2. 5. Why can't allied powers command each other's units. Historically Von Mackensen commanded Austrian troops, and d'Esperey commanded a real Entente hodge-podge in Salonika. 6. How do you tell a HQ command rating? I have looked at a HQ's properties and they all looked pretty much the same to me. So I'm missing something. Right now all HQ's look alike to me even though I know some are better than others.
  3. ok. Now I have 2 games under my belt and have a few more questions. 1. I noticed that even if I don't have all the "ship" spots occupied I still see a Entente blockades... event come up. Is there a difference in effectiveness if you occupy them all or if you only occupy one or two? 2. Is the investment in submarines worth the decrease in enemy mpp? Seems that the life span of a sub in 3-4 turns, at 200MPP cost but only reduces the enemy say 40MPP max. Seems you are on the losing end of the cost-benefit ratio. 3. If multiple powers invest in diplomacy on the same country - say France/UK/Russia all put money in Norway, will they increase your chances of switching Norway or are they in competition with each other? 4. Anyway to do recon only missions with your recon-bombers? I notice that they almost always lose strength flying the mission and think the recon only option would be useful.
  4. Don't feel bad. I don't seem to do very well at the Naval game. First when I played as the CP, and now when I'm playing as the Entente. Right now the germans are whomping up on my Russians while they are in-port!
  5. Finally, How can they field such large armies and still afford to spend hundreds in one turn for research?
  6. I'm playing the campaign game as the Entente. My situation doesn't seem too bad but I'm puzzled about somethings. Quick Sitrep: Belgium still holding. Serbia still holding. Warsaw still Russian. CP losses much higher than Entente. Questions: Why is the CP fielding larger forces than the entente? 78G, 48AH, 28Ot=154 67R+7It+28F+25Uk=127
  7. It was the number of greeks that was keeping them in the war. New question. Lots of times I have eliminated everyone in a city and then find myself unable to advance in. This happens even if I haven't moved yet before combat. Very frustrating to clearing a tough city only to have the enemy reoccupy it and have to do it all over again. What is that deal with that? Anything to minimize this?
  8. I've taken Salonika and Athens. The Greeks are still in the war. What does it take to knock them out? Do I have to invade the islands? Not going to happen with the overwhelming Allied Naval strength in the Med.
  9. So what you are saying is that you have to use a webserver to host the picture and include the link as opposed to uploading the image to the forum server?
  10. Bill, I love these screenshots but how do you include them in your posts? I haven't had much luck in my attempts. They always seem to end up as rather small jpg attachements.
  11. Let's see if this works. I've tried both attaching the img from my Italian Front and also inserting it into this message. I've used the screenshot utility in the game to capture the shot. As you can see I've brought up a bunch of both Austrian and German corps but it still isn't easy killing the Italians. One thing I have noticed is that the strength value for some corps are a different color than for others. What does that mean?
  12. what is the trick to getting an image that is small enough to upload but has enough resolution to be viewable?
  13. I've attached a picture of my Italian Front. You should be able to see what one of my detachements looks like and what the expected attack value against a weakened Italian corp is.
  14. ok, I am beginning to see a trend here. No I don't have a HQ with my Austrians. I started with 3 10 factor detachements dug in at level 3 entrenchment. I guess I am not 100% certain what HQ's do for you. I assume that they improve your readiness but when I looked at my units their readiness didn't appear bad. If someone can tell me how to take a snap from the game and attach it I'll take one from my game.
  15. I'm playing my first game as the CP on easy. I am not doing too badly but I am amazed that the Italians have managed to stomp my Austrians entrenched in the mountains. What gives? They fought 12 battles along the Isonzo and got no where. In my game they have smashed both Austrian detachements and regular corps. They are more effective than the Russians. Which historically was definitely not the case. Is this usual, or what am I doing wrong?
