  1. Thank You, @Jotte That did the trick - I used CMFI as a test, reg'ed the game and after a reload the Slitherin page the steam key appeared Best regards Morten
  2. Hi Now that CMFB is coming to steam, I will take the plunge and move my CM-games to steam. But I am at a loss on how. I signed up to slitherine, found the CMFI, and entered the key from battlefront - so now it seems I have activated the game at slitherine - ehh OK. How do I get the key for steam? Could some kind soul please make a guide for dummies? Best regards Morten
  3. Hi I have had the dubious pleasure to have been issued the Flammpanzerwaregn in a few scenarios. They never fires a single burst - they could never get close enough ( as I understand it, the range is about 30m on each side). In the few instances the vehicle got close to living ememies, they where allready surendering to the infantry. I can only see a use of if, in, in some rare situation, it could get behind bunkers, even so - I think it would be very hard to keep alive long enough to get there. Am I missing something on how to use the Flammpnazerwargen? Best regards Morten
  4. I got it fixed - is seems as if the game do not output the loaded filename - but "overwrites" with quikbattle 00x - but if the the default name is overwritten with the one you want in the screen with the wrong name in the game it works - I.e. do not reneme in the output folder. Best regards Morten
  5. In other PbEM QB's I did not have this problem. After at a reinstall on a new PC I have started a PbEM QB. I usually Get/make the first turn and renames it to something ( like MeVSThatguy 001 (or 002)) and I did the smae this time, but every time, in this latest, I load the file MeVSThatguy 012, it outputs the file with the name Quickbattle 013. I then have to rename the file before I put it in the dropbox. That is strange - anyway to change that - as said I have not experienced that before/on my old install/PC? And I don't as of now know if my opponent has the same experience, but I somehow doubt it. Best regards Morten
  6. Let the games begin I'll write at personal massage with more info and questions Best regards Morten
  7. Hi I have the four WW2 Cm games - and a slot for one or two new PBEM opponents. Turns once or twice a week - I do have some kind of RL Fairly good player - win/loss ratio about 50/50 so far. I have played CM since the first demo in 1999 (?), and play (almost) exclusively PBEM. I will not play a scenario I have played before and expect opponent not to have played it either - I will play a QB with map show and player buying the units Please contact me here or via PM. Best regards Morten Copenhagen, Denmark
  8. So I found the correct ones in my orders list ( for BN, FI, RT and FB) - i hope ? Best regards Morten
  9. Thank you all I think even this old man got the hows now Best regards Morten
  10. Thank you - sooo - basicaly dl the latest patches from battlefront.com - install them and activate whith my keys (for each game/module)? Best regards Morten
  11. Thank you @Probus Could someone give me a descreet hint, as where to find those "all in one" files? Best regards Morten
  12. Hi I am thinking of buying a new gaming PC and monitor, and have 2 questions: 1: would it be possible to run CM games on a 3440x1440 165HZ (very) widescreen monitor? 2: From last time I installed CM-games on a new PC - the present one - I seem to recall that one did not have to dl. all the files from the order history, but that there were one file that could be dl'ed and each module in the game could be opend with the key for each. Or is this just a false memory placed to cover the cruesome truth? Best regards Morten
  13. Looking forward to try these in pbem. Just a quick quistion: Should one still make the patch update in a PbEM game, after the review part (and save, update and load again) or is that SO yesterday? Best regards Morten
  14. Downloading - and thank you. There has been a thread with essentiel mods on other CM games - but not - as I have found on CM BN Best regards Morten PS after down loading I notice a lack of "how to file" - I am fine - but perhaps other dont know what to do - or where to do it
  15. Thank you ! Balance in a scenario is many things: the terrain ( shall one side over a crest - or crack troops vs not so crack troops - fewer but great tanks vs many poor tanks - victory conditions can be modified etc... Re playtesters I think you is correct - it's hard to find playtesteres - or even - as I myself is guilty of - leaving a comment after having played a scenario. It must be very discouraging having spent hours and hours to study and make a scenario, seeing dl after dl and not one comment back. Best regards Morten Copenhagen - Denmark
  16. One think I can't understand when reading the above comments. I have not much experience with designing scenarions in CM2, but I would think it would be easier to design for HTH, rather than having to make several scripts for both sides in order to make a AI-game. I would think that when making a HTH scenario you have to set the stage, the area, the winning conditions, the tools for each player to achieve those conditions. Then playtest and finetune. Then, if, I wanted to make playing the the AI in the scenario, it would be easier to make scripts based on how humans have played the game. But of course I, as stated, have not played around to much with CM2 scenario design, so I migth be completly wrong, in my understanding. Best regards Morten
  17. Thank you @Commanderski I will give it try as soon as I get a free opening
  18. As the scenarios is shown in Thefewgoodmen.com, they seems to be individuel scenarios. If only the designer had in the breifing shown the the terrain, and written "it's 16/12 and we are outnumbered - hold them back as much as possible, try to keep obj X". Belive me I know - I have games that are running on the 2nd year... - and that is not a problem. Lethaface wrote: I think the reason is simply that people expect some sort of 'balanced' scenario if it is advertised as a H2H scenario Well but no scenario is ever balanced - not even chess. Perhaps the difficulty lies in balance the victory conditions - but if players agree - due to the designer notes that the game IS unbalanced and designed for AI play only - why not give the player the the posibility to feel welcome, by writing a breifing for the "AI" side. Best regards Morten
  19. Hi everybody. I play 99% HtH and I am constantly looking for HTH ones. On the fewgoodmen.com I came (after reading in these forums) across Theforger's 35(!) Rollbahn D scenarios, all having the comment "Axis versus Allies, possibly a H2H. But no Allied briefing" and Commanderski's Tank Battle of Lisow with the comment "Designed to play Germans against the Soviet AI" also with no breifing for allied side. These scenarios seems to be very well researched and I think interesting to play - I do like historical or semihistorical scenarios best. So how come that designers dont add breifing for the other side just incase one would like to try it out in a HtH game,. The comment could be something like " Bare in mind that the scenario is designed for play vs AI - but I have added breifing for both sides in case of a HTH". Nobody could complain about lopsidedness or something afterwards - but both players would get a feel for what they are in for when playing. I guess what I am saying is: How come fewer and fewer scenarios seems to be designed with HTH, if only partly, in mind? Best regards Morten
  20. Thank you all for the help. I did get the mods to show in the game Best regards Morten
  21. Ok -Thanks @Lethaface I think I got that - I installed in the wrong place - Thank you very much for helping me out here! I might not be a newbie to the game, but I am certainly a newbie with mods ( I wish that somewhere on the forum was a fixed article on "using mods for dummies" - but it seems to be lacking...) Now next question: Can folders contain other folders - do they have to be renamed, or is it OK to place a folder named "Aris Hetzer FB" in the Z-folder, or do I need to put every file in that folder into the Z-folder? Best regards Morten Copenhagen
  22. Now I have DL'ed the files in order to try out the mods. It seems however that there are a lot of different files in the .zip file. Scenarios and stuff. The most are placed in the ( for FI ) zzzCMFI folder. So... and sorry for this newbie question: which files to put where ? - I guess I have to make a folder named Z, same place as folders Scenarios, mastermaps etc are placed (?) but I am at a loss which files from the download to put in the Z-folder. Best regards Morten
  23. @BornGinger Good advice - I'll risk it when I get a little further down the line in designing. I will not feature it as anything but a HtH scenario - yet - at least. I am hesitent to venture into the scripts aspects and also I feel that some HTH only scenarios is needed. I play HtH 98% of the time and having a hard time to find some good games to be played that way. best regards Morten
  24. @Combatintman Thank you - some interesting reads - it's not easy to make everybody happy, it seems. So I think I'll make a breifing in the style I would like to read myself. And have one or two more read it - in case something obvious is forgotten or very unclear. @chuckdyke Thank you for the YT video and the interesting link.
  25. @domfluff Thank you for the good advice - and I like maps with arrows and positions on as much as the next guy @Sgt.Squarehead That's great inspiration right there - Thank you. Best regards Morten
