So i decided to try modding some of the Russian/Ukrainian firearms, not going to call it a mod just yet because i can't guarantee ill get far with this one (like most of my others ) but so far i like the results...
 
Here is the older AK-74, RPK-74, and AKS-74u which all share the same textures. Deep red Russian laminate stock and polymer mag but thats what i like...

 


 
 

 
Still have to do the folding stock and figure out how exactly the brake on the "Krink" is textured...

 
 
I also have done a new makarov but have yet to find it in the game  . Keep you guys posted on any more progress

No pictures during the winter months just spring, summer and a few in the fall to try an keep inline with the time frame in CMBS. I tried to stay away from images of the more controversial territorial defense battalions but a few might be in there.  They are all also cropped and resized from high pixel images.
 
US Army photos are coming up to complete the Blue forces but first of several batches for RU (redfor) is next.

I would like the game if it wasn't so very far behind engine wise compared to the rest of CM. Its probably from me being spoiled by the other games further along in the engine, but this one gives me the worst performance and it kills it for me. Definitely would love to see it revisted with better models, textures, tank riders etc. but not going to happen sadly.

Oh and does anyone think the amount of western firearms the muj have in game are a little over embellished. I get maybe some pakistani G3's but M-16's, FN Fal's, and AR-10's kinda seem far fetched and i took it for just Russian spin.

Yeah its ridiculous that some has given this a one star. If you dont like the mod then dont use it, no need to down rate someones hard work and efforts. Hope WOKI and other moders see that there are a lot of people that appreciate what they do even if everyone wont like every single mod that's made. 
 
Keep it up WOKI and when you get the time, Id love to see the Jagdpanther get some love.

Honestly, I don#t understand why people have beenr ating this rather poorly. This is very good for your first effort. I did much worse when I started doing textures...

Yep. I had to take a break from the monotony of making German shields for RT. Been messing with these for about a month

Arguably, the difference is the FSB guys got caught doing what they were doing, while your guys didnt get caught doing what they were doing. Thats the difference. The end result is the same.

Really?  You are suggesting there is any comparison at all between 9/11 and the Moscow bombings?  There is no doubt who committed 9/11.  The saddest thing about 9/11 is that our intelligence agencies were so poorly coordinated they couldn't stop it.  That we do not hold Saudi Arabia more responsible as the promoter of wahhabism is another sad point.  To say however the US gov't somehow cynically murdered 4,500 people to not pay attention to an economic crisis is just pretty absurd. 
 
And this isn't "America's war".  The same folks, as have been previously pointed out, have hit the UK, Spain etc. So did America also somehow pull those off as well?
 
With the Moscow bombings however the FSB is caught red handed planting a bomb, then somehow the bomb becomes flour and it is a training mission, then the gov't shuts down the investigation and Putin rides the wave of vengeance against Chechnya... hmm yeah they are even close to comparison....

Nice screen shot.  I have to practice with flamethrowers more.  I tried to use one in two or three different PBEM games but they were KIA before they were close enough to fire the fire.    We may have to get the administrator to change your screen name to Pyro505 or Fahrenheit 451 or Torch or ..........  .  

Seems I one-upped my previous flamethrower screen shot.  In my battles, the operator doesn't usually see his target, just firing on suspected locations, but in this case, he did.  A truly terrifying weapon.

But I have on the other hand made test and have run stats in the past when I have felt something might be off in the game that I wanted changed. So I am going to stay with the attitude of get busy and show some real numbers as to what you are wanting to prove needs tweeking. Til then, you have done nothing.

You look at the inf in the game and you see a LOT of scoped weapons. Not just sniper rifles but machine guns, carbines, you name it. These aren't conscript soldiers spraying & praying. I recall someone on this board mentioned that the Taliban was circulating rumors that captured fighter were being executed. What was happening was they were fighting behind cover, only exposing their heads during a firefight and were suffering a disproportionate number of head shots as a result

HMMWV gunners seem to survive ok the way I use them; providing covering fire and (generous) area fire from keyholed positions. I fairly frequently run them dry of ammo, in fact!

In my experience, when they do die, it's rarely the enemy at 12 o'clock, being engaged by the HMMWV's weapon, which kills the gunner. It's the guys off to either side who are taking their time laying accurate, unsuppressed fire on him as a priory target. Good positioning/keyholing removes that threat and means that if anyone wants to shoot your gunner they need to brave a hail of Mk19 or machine gun rounds to do so.

Cover .. Fast move order.. Pause for 15 seconds, target briefly reverse into cover .. Repeat

I hate to use these guys for example but look at all the footage from the middle east over the past few years. Truck mounted weapons in that high threat environment are used in shoot n' scoot tactics basically popping the vehicles from cover to deliver a few bursts then quickly haul ass back to defilade.Thats how i try to use my HMMVs and Tigrs in CMBS. 
 
Whether its in a urban area or the countryside the longer they stay exposed the more chance of that gunner getting clipped or the whole vehicle blown. They are basically a very mobile soft target with a big friggin red arrow o' death on top of the gunners head. When i have my gunners killed its usually cause i drove them out into situation where i shouldn't have. Also 400m or 250m really aint that much to the small arms in CMBS or in real life.
